Bri is a sixteen-year-old who wants to be one of the greatest rappers of all time. She wins her first rap battle and gets the opportunity to make a song. She pours out her anger about her mom losing her job and being assaulted by security at school, and creates a song that everyone is talking about. But everyone is talking about it for the wrong reasons. People think Bri is a ruthless teen who's always angry, but that isn't who she really is. Record executives love the attention that Bri is getting, and are interested in signing her. This seems like an amazing opportunity, but when they try to make Bri into someone she isn't, she has to decide what she's willing to give up in order to make it as a rapper. I like how the author of this book shows Bri's perspective on the events going on in her life, and the author shows what other people think of Bri. This helps me to get the full picture of Bri's life, and it makes the book more interesting. I would rate this book a 4/5.
