"Magical realism, lyrical prose, and the pain and passion of human love haunt this hypnotic generational saga."

I grew up devouring every Francesca Lia Block book I could devour. Then I discovered Alice Hoffman and got dizzy on all her pretty prose. I can't help it, I'm a sucker for this type of agonizingly beautiful book - they're like poems that never end. When I read them I get all philosophical and creative. I have a really good feeling about this one. Hopefully it'll inspire something wonderful. If nothing else, I still think it will be a good read. I have a good feeling about this one!

Monica (Tomes Project) (tomesproject) I have heard fantastic things about this book. I might have to pick it up during this week!

I hope you do! I know Zaz is planning to read it for Week 9, so it will be nice to get a good discussion going! :) It looks like it will be good, I really hope so.

Kate (kmersiov) I've decided to read this book this week instead of We Were Liars, and so far I'm enjoying the weird world the story takes place in. It's also a nice change from the books I've been reading so far, which have tended to be long, difficult, and/or dense.

Kate (kmersiov) Has anyone else finished this book yet? I just finished and I am trying to process my emotions about the ending!
