She lives with her dead parents who are ghosts so she can talk to them. At one point in the book, she meets the ghost of a student from who school who was a female tennis player.

It's a chapter book. It seems to take place in modern times in some random town in the United States. It's an adventure book, I think. Not horror at all. I don't believe it is part of a series.
