Star Wars Book Club discussion

I thought I'd start the discussion for The Rise of Skywalker since it's this month's group read.

Obviously we could have already seen the movie, but please mark any posts with spoilers accordingly in case the novel reveals more details than the movie had.

I hope to start reading this weekend after I finish The Fever Code.

I've started! I think it will be a quick read since it's 247 pages. May the force be with you :)

I finished the book yesterday. I have to say that it is really not my favourite Star Wars book. My final note was 3 stars, it was decent, it was a bit entertained. Unfortunately, I had in mind a book where we will get more extra content. It's almost only what we see in the movies plus some extra scenes. I won't recommend this book to someone who wants to read a Star Wars book for the first time but if you want to know a few more details about the Rise of Skywalker then go ahead! :)

That's what I'm discovering. While there are some extras and some insight into the character's thinking, it feels like they took the script and added in the narration. It helps fill in the story a little better though, which I appreciate.

Finished the book yesterday. Took me a little while despite its short length.

Haven't written my review yet, but I give it 3 stars. It was nice that it explained things a little better than the movie, but it wasn't as deep as I expected it to be.

Still I liked it and I think it complements the film well enough.

I think I'm ready for High Republic stuff. Time to put Skywalker and the gang behind us.

2 stars. I think the book was way better than the movie, but at the end i just didn't like the story. Rae Carson fixed a lot of the problems that the movie has but it wasn't enough for me.

We even get more time with Leia!
