I read this book somewhere from 2015-2017. The book seemed recent, at least from the 2000s and seemed to be set in present day. All I can remember about it is that a group of high school teens who wouldn't have been friends start to bond over the fact that a meteor - or something of the sort - is going to strike Earth and kill all of humanity. The book might have been a multiple viewpoint, where each chapter switches characters.
