It's Friday! Let us know what you're reading!

I've been going through the advance reader copies that I hoard on my kindle, looking for some light romance to get me through this social distancing time. This week I finished One to Watch in record time (neglecting my kids in the process) and now I'm enjoying Beach Read.

If you're still looking for suggestions for reading, check out our free Book Match service. You tell us 5 books or authors (or 4 or 3) and we'll recommend 5 more that we think you'll like. No Alexandria library card necessary!

Athena (athenaw) | 21 comments I am finishing up Whiskers in the Dark, a Mrs. Murphy Mystery, by Rita Mae Brown. This is a great cozy mystery series set in Crozet, VA. We have a lot of the series in e-book form at the Alexandria Library. I also supported my local bookstore Old Town Books and did curbside pick up of the brand new Anne Tyler, Redhead by the Side of the Road.

Athena (athenaw) | 21 comments FYI, the first book in the Mrs. Murphy Series by Rita Mae Brown is Wish You Were Here and available at the library as an e-book.

I’ve been finding it hard to concentrate on new books, so I’ve been re-reading the Cormoran Strike mysteries by Robert Galbraith aka J.K. Rowling. But then the audiobook of Samantha Irby’s latest, Wow, No Thank You, came in for me on Overdrive, so now my fiancé keeps checking on me to see why I’m laughing so hard. Her previous title, We Are Never Meeting In Real Life, is one of the funniest books I’ve ever read.

Mary-jane Roth | 26 comments Despite my intentions to tackle some heavy times in my stack, I am reading Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries by Dorothy Sayers, and listening to Phryne Fisher mysteries by Kerry Greenwood. There’s a 1920’s theme I think.

Dorothy Sayers is on my list too. So many good intentions and yet I don't seem to have any more time!

Cormoran Strike is great - do we think she will write a new one anytime soon? I've added Samantha Irby to my list - thanks for the recommendation!
