Arnetta | 31 comments I am not doing well this year so set a low goal. Hope to semi-retire by fall and will do much better next year! Only going for 40. Hoping to clean off some of my stacks of books that are ALL over the house.

'The cat who' books are really short so I'm counting 2 as 1 - seems fairer. Seems like cheating if I count each one. LOL... I now added each with some encouragement. :)

There's no such thing as cheating when it comes to reading! Hey that rhymes! lol. But really, if it's on Goodreads, it counts as a book. So everything counts regardless of page numbers.

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments I've gone from being very restrictive on what I count, to counting just about everything, to counting literally every thing (including 10 picture books a day, in some cases), back to NOT counting books I read to my kids... and once we're reading more chapter books than picture books, I'll probably feel weird about it and change my rules yet again.

Long story short... the number doesn't matter as much as the books. Do whatever works for you.

I like "The Cat Who" books. I might have to reread the series. If you like them, you might like the "Mrs. Pollifax" series.

Thanks. You've made me feel better. It still seems too easy but I'll go back to counting each one. :)

I picked up a couple at a library sale and fell in love. I am now working on reading the series in order... just helps some things make sense better. They are so fun. I will try the Mrs. Polifax series next. Thanks!
