Last year one of my poems was nominated for Best of the Net by As It Ought To Be Magazine. I didn’t make the publication, but I did make the finalist list. Here’s what the editor said to me:

“Yeah that was a big accomplishment. They have the official anthology comprised of a handful of first prize winners, and then their list of finalists (I guess like the list of second prize winners). Considering how many lit mags send in submissions and that each can send six poets, getting on the finalist list means your poem stood out in a huge pool of poems. "A Murder" was the one AIOTB poem that made that finalist list.”

Yippee!

Here’s a link to its original appearance in AIOTB. https://asitoughttobemagazine.com/201...

Congrats, congrats, congrats, Ruth!

That link led to a 404 error once I clicked the title after your name. But I did an end run to get here:

"Wildfire.

Looking down the list of poems, poets, it's amazing how many names I recognize now that I've been in the poetry mill a few years. Ace Boggess, for instance. The guy's name is everywhere.
