Yes, and I have no idea when I'll get it since I have it on hold at my library and of course it's not yet on their overdrive. I have been waiting months for this last book!

It's so slow that way--I should see if I can speed it up on my new Mac. If I could listen to it at 2 or 3 times the speed, but I am not really driving much so am still listening to the audiobook I got out from the library and started weeks ago.

I am finding the audio books going faster for me right now because I am listening to them while I am doing other stuff around the house. Today I am organizing all the paperwork clutter that has been sitting in a giant pile for a few years. It is a big job and the audio book is making it seem like it is going faster.

I can listen while dusting, etc, but I'd rather drive and listen or walk and listen. However, I can do some stretching and listening which is really good for me, but I want the story speeded up so I can focus better if I'm holding a stretch (I hold them for the full 30 seconds).
Okay, I can do it double time with audible on my Mac, but it messes with the pitch, so I'll have to try it and see if it works for me tonight. I have a scifi space novel I got with a free trial and if it works for me, then I can go for this book or something else.

The Consuming Fire is the second book in the Interdependency Trilogy. The books are easy fast reads set in a time where humans inhabit a variety of planets that depend on each other for survival. However soon the way that they travel through space will disappear and they will all be on their own. The new Emperox must work fast to convince others of their impending troubles while maneuvering the cutthroat politics of the empire.
This was a good middle trilogy book. It moves the story along and sets the reader up for the conclusion in the third book. I really enjoy the political intrigue and like the characters - both the heroes and the villains. The story is expanded in an interesting direction that has me looking forward to the final book coming out this week.
