How much fun is it to have calls with your class? (Pure sarcasm here, guys)

haha i don't have video calls for my classes (unless i call my teacher for help with math) but twice I talked to my friends on video call and it was kinda awkward lol.

In my class people put on music or make strange sounds during the video calls...

Ugghhh they suck! The only good thing is that my classmates always write jokes in the chat section it actually makes it entertaining

Haha yeah. the chat section yesterday had comments about everything except the subject

I mean, you can do that but only if the teacher doesn't see it...
Some of my teachers are constantly on the chat and we can't say anything that isn't linked to the class

On my video calls, it is set up like the Brady Bunch opening

There was this one guy yesterday who was telling all his friends on the chat that he was a dog

when we do classes on zoom, most of my classmates stop the video and go on mute (usually they play games or stay on their phones)

Everyone texts on their phones lol

my classes do video calls a couple times a week and THEY ARE ABSOLUTE TORTURE it’s basically thirty minutes of (caffeine-deprived) me sitting there listening to people say the same thing over and over. most people, including me, mute themselves and play video games or watch YouTube

I don’t really have a specific reason for hating it

but it bores me

and I hate it

I like some of them and dislike others . My French ones are okay, and I like my social ones

ooh yes my class always does that

and I use the private chat feature to talk with people

I plan on telling my class it's my birthday in the video call on Thursday. It's also another guy's birthday on the same day, and we call each other "Birthday buddies" XD

Being the librarian who also does video classes for school I say ITS AWESOMEEEE! You should come to my classes instead, I swear its fun!!! :D

omg, so now we have one more week until the end of the year where live, and today in our math class, the teacher made a girl from my class bring her little brother (who is 5) and her brother was so cute, he had a whole conversation with our teacher and we were all laughing so hard lol

aw that's awesome. that sounds adorable. and fun:p

I purely hate my online classes. Because along with my video classes I even have google classroom, coaching zoom calls. So first I have to see an entire 1 hr video on google classroom of each subject then listen the same thing in the zoom class. It is just so nauseating.

Another worst thing is that in our zoom calls we can only chat with our teachers!

lol so my teacher wanted an "okay" picture on his powerpoint to symbolize that we got what he was explaining and he used the okay thing from the fault in our stars and when I told him it was from a very sad book and movie he took it off 😂😂😂

also in my science class no one ever turns their cameras on so my teacher turns his off too its hilarious

They disabled private chat T-T
And we have zooms from 7 or 8 to 1 or 2
Plus they keep changing the schedule to make the day longer DX

at my school, everyday we start at 8.30 and finish at 3.20 on mondays and at 2.30 the rest of the week...

we start at 8:30 on all days except Wednesday because we have social emotional learning then...🙄

I end usually around 2:30-3 because they let us out early

what social emotional learning?

we do that every week too
it's the worst :P

but what exactly do you do there?

I think because the stress of covid is too much for some people so we just talk about how to handle emotions and be better behavior

we talk about how we need to be responsible and how the teachers are aLwAyS tHeRe FoR yOu

and they make everyone do it because they don't trust kids to come to counselors if they need help

tbf, our counselors are sh!tty and tell all of our problems to our parents -_-

in elementary school it was called second step and it was the creepiest and cringiest songs and acting

I've never been to the counselor so idk about that. my mom says I'm strong enough to not need a counselor

ugh yes! for me it was in elementary school. my brother is doing it now and he tells me about it and I'm reliving the horrors of the anger management song

me too! fifth grade was my least favorite grade ever

oh, i think i have a class that's pretty similar only that we call it mindfulness and god i hate that class. me and my friends always complain about it on our group chat. also one of our teacher is pretty sick, for a month now instead of her class we've been doing classes with our school counselors.

ugh and I get why they make everyone do it, but I hate it so much
