Elder female authors, here is the place to offer descriptions of your books and links to where they are available.
Also, feel free to add your book to our group's "Bookshelf." >>>>>

I have a lifelong love of fantasy, but at a young age grew frustrated with the overwhelming focus on war.

Aru's Realm is a literary-style story that reads somewhat like an old-time fantasy novel, but has powerful female characters and a contemporary awareness.

It's a fun and artful journey. Every chapter brings a different color to mind.

Ellen Behrens | 5 comments I'm feeling torn about how quickly I glommed onto this group! I'm so glad to see older women writers being spotlighted and embraced here, yet I'm now so sure I'm ready to be called "elder" which is soooo close to "elderly..." which I think fits my 95 year-old mom more than it does my newly 60+ year-old self :)

I've been writing and publishing for most of my life, including my first novel back in the 1990s which got some attention and terrific reviews from places like the NY Times Book Review. Since then I've abandoned literary fiction (much to the frustration of friends and family) to actually have fun writing (though my hubby, seeing me frown over my manuscripts, wonders just how much fun I'm actually having).

I've accepted the invitation to add my books to the group's bookshelf, so you can see the three I spend my most time with, though there are a few others.

So glad to have discovered Toni's book "Mildred in Disguise: With Diamonds" and am looking forward to reading it, and will look at your book, H.A. (not much into fantasy....).

Welcome to the group, Ellen, and thanks for posting. Your books do look fun!

I know what you mean about the word "elder." Language and our feelings about it say a lot about our society. When we want to describe people middle-aged and older, we don't have much to work with. All this leads to the use of the word "crones!"

D.R. Hamilton | 2 comments Bonjour everyone

Thank you for accepting me in this group.

I am a Canadian and yes, I am an ‘elder’ term also used by our First Nation and Christian communities, "individuals of a greater age valued for their wisdom.”

I love to tell stories and four years ago in my very late 60’s I began to write. My first novel “Angel Spirit of Retribution” was published in March 2019. Currently, I am working on two more novels and to others currently waiting to be removed from the back burner.

My website is https://www.ataletotell.ca You will find my blog on Goodreads D.R. Hamilton’s Blog: A TALE TO TELL. I am also on Facebook @DRHamiltonAuthor/.

My Bio is simple and appears in my books and Goodreads as follows:
I like my ‘different-ness’, and see in my inner mirror a curious creative Bohemian. Figuratively, my soul adventures with the likes of Cussler, Steel, Twain, Dickens, Shakespeare, and the Bronte Sisters, so I write. My heart dances in color with Monet and Da Vinci, so I paint. My intent is to draw others into my delight in life. I incorporate into my fiction, my heritage, law enforcement, archeology, mystical beings, love for cats, life and my garden, and an unbridled imagination. Join me please in these adventures. I hope you delight in them as much as I have in creating.

Thank you again for allowing me to join the group.

Keep writing and stay safe.

I have a website - http://www.ritaleechapman.com where I interview a different author each week. If anyone is interested in being interview (from October onwards) you can contact me through the website.
