2015 Snagged @ The Library Challenge discussion

Here is where you can add your Jan 2015 Library Books Read! Feel free to add them to the reading shelf.

Providing that I don't have to wait for these, this is my plan for January.

I am going to hopefully figure out which ones I am missing from the Kim Harrison series. That is first up for me.

I just finished Red Queen by Christopher Pike. I will need to get the next book, Black Knight, in the Witch World Series soon.

My first book of the year checked from the library is The Good Luck Girls of Shipwreck Lane which I started this morning and am already halfway through. I'm enjoying it. I also checked out the Silent Sister by Diane Chamberlain,Miss Dreamsville and the Collier County Women's Literary Society by Amy Hill Hearth, and Shanghai Girls by Lisa See, all are novels by authors I have never read. This Shipwreck Lane book is going to also cross over to my Foodie Read challenge and my Women's Literature Challenge which is a good thing! I went a little crazy on the Challenges for 2015, so we'll see how it goes.

This group could be bad for my wishlist! I have already added a book. Sorry that I don't recall the whole title but it's the one with Shipwreck Lane in the title. I'm using my IPad to type this and it won't let me move this box to get the whole title.

I'm listening to A Cowboy for Christmas by Lori Wilde that I downloaded from the library. As for a whole list of what I plan to read, sorry I'm not that organized...I pick as I go!

I pick as I go too! I mostly use it to fill in books I am missing from series I have one or two books of. :) I can see this will be bad for my wishlist too!

I've only ever done a couple of audio books. One year I drove to Florida and listened to them while I was driving. That worked pretty well, but I've always thought I might get distracted and miss something or fall asleep just listening to a book, so I haven't done it again. Do any of you regularly listen to audiobooks and do you enjoy that? How does it stack up against reading a book or ebook?

I mostly listen to audiobooks (I do it while at work, cleaning house, and crafting). Once you get used to listening to them, I feel that a good narrator can enhance a story. They don't work for everyone but I ADORE them!

I have read A Spear of Summer Grass and enjoyed it. I have The Silent Sister on hold at the library right now and need to pick it up.

Now that family is gone. I can get back to reading. This is my first reading challenge ever and I love this reading challenge and look forward to participating with everyone. I'll post books once I figure out what I'm going to read from the library. Happy New Year Everyone! ^_^

Finished reading my first 2015 read--The Good Luck Girls of Shipwreck Lane by Kelly Harms. Really enjoyed it!

On the 1st, I checked out and read "Hollow City" from my library via Overdrive.
Not sure what will be next...

Right now I am working on and I have a few others in my stack from the library!

I am a HUGE library user. I utilize both print and digital content and I've read both already this year, I've finished 3 books.

Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas, 2nd in the series, digital
Only by HelenKay Dimon, also 2nd in series, paperback
In Close by Brenda Novak, 3rd in series, digital

I'm working on my fourth, Perfect Witness by Iris Johansen, hardcover.

This is all romantic suspense. I'll have to move on to some UF next!

I will add all these books to the shelves :) I am excited to see the eclectic mix that ends up there. Plus I am tinkering with the idea of when we start a month--totaling up the money we saved from the month before by using the library as a group :)

Oooh, I like that idea!

And I already have another book to add for this month. My husband checked out the graphic novel Serenity: Leaves on the Wind and I decided to give it a read before returning it. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It tells what happens after the movie.

I started reading another Library book today, The Silent Sister by Diane Chamberlain. I think I may have read a couple of her books early in her career, but nothing in a very long time. This one is really good so far. I didn't want to put it down to go to work today! Its about a woman whose father just died and she is finding out things she did not know about her family. I started it this morning and I'm already about 100 pages in. This was one of the Fall selections on SheReads.org. I've found some very good selections there.

My TBR is going to be overflowing .. (like it isn't already LOL)

I finished Pride Mates and now starting Primal Bonds! I am so glad they had books 1 and 2. I need to see if they have 3 and 4 LOL

I am often like that with series. I have been known to check out the first 5-6 books if they have them all on shelf even if I haven't read book 1 just in case I love it and, therefore, must binge read.

Today I finished Fire Me Up by Kimberly Kincaid which wasn't a library book, but an e-arc. I will finish the Lori Wilde book on audio soon. I'm a bit upset with myself because I'm not really a re-reader and I discovered today that I had already read the Wilde book!

I decided to finally take some time and attempt to figure out how to use Windows 8 and add more titles to my IPod. I have downloaded:
Top Secret Twenty One by Janet Evanovich (I long ago gave up reading this series with my eyes, and keep up by listening to the audios)
Love Letters by Debbie Macomber (Again an author I used to love but have pretty much set aside, and decided since I could do this in audio from the library I should get caught up on this series)
Love At First Sight by Lori Wilde It's the first in a series.
The Groom Says Yes by Cathy Maxwell. I'm not really a historical person, but I read the first one in this series because she was phoning into one of the local book clubs. I am completing the series by getting the audios from the library.
2 Bodies for the Price of 1 by Stephanie Bond. It's part of a series
I've also downloaded Two Girls in Blue by Mary Higgins Clark as well as I've Got You Under My Skin by Mary Higgins Clark

As you can see when I start downloading I go whole hog!

Ok..so lesson learned...watch the format when downloading an audio. I can't use the Mary Higgins Clark books on my IPod. Boo hoo!

Great start to the new year! Just finished Wonder by R.J. Palacio as my first read of the year AND my first "Snagged @ The Library Challenge read! I have a few choices for book #2 as ALL the library books I requested decided to come in at the same time! :-)

Currently reading Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys. I downloaded it as a test to make sure Overdrive was working correctly (it was on my TBR list anyway). It's been laugh outloud funny at points and it fits for a category for the Read Harder Challenge. I love when things like that happen.

I am a big fan when books fit more than one challenge. I am going to the library tonight before book club because I need the next books in the Jennifer Ashley series :)

So are we to post here when we read new books or just when we have something interesting to say? So far I've read 6 books in 5 days this year and 5 of them from the library. You can understand why I chose "Library Card on Fire". It's below zero and I have no desire to leave the house until it warms up.

The one I just finished today is Bones Never Lie by Kathy Reichs. I've read all of this series - the tv show
Bones is based on it - but the books are not like the tv show at all. Still it's interesting. And there will definitely be reading later today of some sort.

Finished my first book of the new year from the Library: Rev It Up (Black Knights Inc.). Got a few on hold I'm waiting for.

I really enjoy his writing style! The Book of Lost Things is one of my favorite books!

Started my second library book of the year! Lost in a Good Book! (Finished The Jungle Book last night, but it wasn't a library book!)

I finished my first one today--the flu has been good for something. I am now staring Primal Bonds (my second one) :)

Finished my third book for this challenge today. "The House on Mermaid Point" by Wendy Wax. I enjoyed this book, the same as I enjoyed the first 2 in this trilogy + a novella, although I'm hoping the author writes another in this series as I enjoy the settings and the characters. I like just about anything set at the beach! This is a book about women's friendships, house renovation, reality TV, romance - endings and beginnings of, relationships between Moms and daughters, sisters and brothers, moms and son, paparazzi, celebrity and just life in general at different stages. Light, enjoyable read!

I finished The Groom Says Yes by Cathy Maxwell. It's an audio that I downloaded from the library. Now I'm listening to Love Letters which is another book I downloaded from the library.

From my TBR pile I read Depraved by Debra Webb. I know it's not a library book, but thought I'd let you know what I read anyway!

Awesome! I plan on updated the books on Monday. I am loving the variety :)

I finished my first library book of the year--The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling).

I loved the earlier idea of keeping track of how much money I save by borrowing from the library. I'm posting it in my comments in my review of the book, and I'm keeping track of my library books on a special goodreads shelf. I look forward to going back and adding it up at the end of the year! So far, $11 saved!

I'm about 2/3s of the way through "The Beekeeper's Ball" by Susan Wiggs, with "Notorious" by Allison Brennan waiting on tap. With today and tomorrow off, I'm hoping to get more reading done.

Bj...Did you read The Apple Orchard? I liked The Beekeeper's Ball better, but didn't really care for either book as much as I was hoping to. Susan Wiggs was a favorite, and now I'm wondering how dedicated I will be to sticking with her blurb unread.
