The Beginning of Everything
question
what are your thought on this book?

I think that this book is one of the most amazing books I've ever read. It's well-written, relate-able in some parts, the plot flows very well, the characters are unique and each has a story that is important to the plot. The thing I love the most about this book is the fact that there is no happy ending where the guy gets the girl of his dreams and they go to college together, because that never actually happens. It makes the book seem that much more realistic and relate-able when Ezra decides to do what he wants to do with his life, and he takes the lessons he learned during his senior year to heart. He even manages to keep most of his geeky friends from high school, which is something I think that most of us aspire to do. There is also one specific paragraph towards the end of the book that really catches the eye and sums up the entire plot of Cassidy's story, "To Cassidy, the panapticon wasn't a metaphor. It was the greatest failing of everything she was, a prison she had built for herself out of an inability to appear as anything less than perfect. And so she ghosted on, in relentless pursuit of escape, not from society, but from herself. She would always be confined by what everyone expected of her, because she was too afraid and too unwilling to correct our imperfect imaginings." I think that this is just the most perfect ending to a most perfect book about a not so perfect boy. It really touches the heart and makes the reader ask questions that they had never thought of before. I recommend this book to anybody who will listen.

John Green ripoff novel to me. It was a waste of time in my opinion. Don't mean to sound rude, it just didn't get my full attention.
it was kind of predicable - but i enjoyed it - but then i'm not a huge john green fan (only read/finished tFioS)
The book is short but I wasn't able to finish it. I cannot find any attachment to the characters. The two main protagonist has no chemistry. There's no feels. I read the summary of this book online and I think the plot twist is like Nicholas Sparks' "A Bend in a Road"
I'm a huge John Green fan and I could really see the touch of John Green... I didn't really like it.. The beginning and the middle wasn't great but the ending was nice...I kinda liked chapter 30 up to the end.. But it wasn't amazing or a blast... I have the same attachment issues... I didn't really feel connected to the story nor did I fall in love with Ezra Faulkner like I've had with Augustus Waters. For me, It was trying really hard to be fun and memorable and witty without much action or effort like what TFIOS had...sooo yeah... But I also gathered some philosophical words along the way...
Personally, I really liked this book. A lot. I guess it wasn't that original but I just loved the characters and the writing style. It reminded me of John Green's books.
I can see why people wouldn't like it, but I thought it was really good.

I LOVED this book. But I don't really know why? I didn't really have much of a relation with any of the characters, but
something about it made me really like this book.

Definitely a John Green rip-off; Cassidy's panopticon to Alaska's labyrinth. I just thought it was a really pointless novel - the entire plot was aiming towards them getting together, and because that doesn't happen in the end it just seems like the entire book is unnecessary. I understand that a lot of it was meant to be how Cassidy taught Ezra to live with his new disability, but that could have been more effective if they'd been friends rather than in an unemotional and barely developed relationship.
I LOVED THIS BOOK.
The only thing I did not like was that the ending was kind of depressing.
In the end, Ezra lost his girlfriend and his dog died.
Not very optimistic.

Honestly I really enjoyed it but it felt like every-other YA contemporary novel. But regardless, i'll be reading Robyn's new book coming out this year.
