Ann Hello members! Only three days left until our challenge officially starts! Before we get started I wanted to open a discussion to get feedback on a few things. This is the first challenge group I have started or been a part of. For those of you that have done challenge groups in the past are there any things you'd like to see from those implemented here? I got the idea of starting a discussion topic for each prompt from one of you that had been in a previous group that did that. Does anyone else have anything like that they'd like to suggest?

Are there any requests on how we run the group? I'll read all your comments and use the ones I think will make the group better and will be doable for me as moderator.

I'm hoping to check in at the end of each week or every two weeks with a new discussion topic since our pace should be about a book per week. Does that sound reasonable to everyone?

I'm completely open to anyone starting their own discussion topics as well throughout the year if there is something you'd like to discuss with the group. Just try to scan the topics and make sure we don't already have a thread going on what you're asking about. That'll just keep things a bit more organized!

Thank you all for your continued participation and I'm looking forward to starting our reading journey together soon!

Leah | 30 comments I think it would be a good idea to have a shelf for each prompt, if possible. That would make it easier to see what others are reading to get ideas.

So excited!!!

Anne (texanne) If anyone here also uses LibraryThing you can search tags there for topics. I just searched "magic" and got some great ideas for that prompt.

I agree with the shelves for each prompt; that would be fun!

Great tip. Thanks

Jenn | 6 comments Would it be possible to have a folder where we could list out reading plans? It's always fun to see what others are reading and nice to have a spot to plan.

Jenn, I'm going to tag everything as my 2015 ultimate reading challenge. I think it would be cool if each of us did this on our own goodreads, then we could share the list with others in something like a folder!

Just posted a discussion topic for people to post their lists!

Jules Lewis (jules_lewis) | 30 comments Has anyone suggested a Twitter hashtag for tweets about the challenge? If not, could I propose #urc15, which is short and future-proof, assuming this thing takes off!

Hilary | 32 comments I'm on instagram but haven't posted anything. I think #urc15 is what the group decided to go with.

message 15: by Lieke (new)

Lieke Wouldn't it be easier to make a folder for reading lists, then everyone can open there own topic and it is easier to make a comment about a list.

I have thought about this but it seeemed cumbersome. The reasons I decided against doing this are we have almost 600 memebers so if even half posted their own topic then it would be really hard to find your own in that many posts. I also felt like people wouldn't click on them to read each one. People's lists wouldn't be seen as much nor would their progress. Does that make sense? Thank you for the suggestion, though!
