Our May group read is...

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, #1) by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

Who is joining in this one?

Renée (reneetheunissen) I finally have time to read again but have read this one already unfortunately, but can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! I personally wasn’t a fan of the book, but I am definitely in the minority

I've actually started this now. I'm 13% in. Its cute but nothing overly special so far. Feels like younger YA as well.

Renée (reneetheunissen) I totally understand what you mean Brittany, I was so excited for it because of all the hype, but I wasn't convinced.

Yeah its okay? But isn't a book that will stay with me unless something major changes. Currently 48% in

I finished it. Did not live up to the hype. It was okay.

This annoyed me (view spoiler) rant over.

message 10: by Renée (new)

Renée (reneetheunissen) I hated that part too! It didn't make any sense and I hate it when simple acts of caring about people are immediately shoved into 'romantic feelings'

YES!!! People are allowed to care for and even love their friends without it being romantic.
