Our May group read is...

Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

I finally have time to read again but have read this one already unfortunately, but can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! I personally wasn’t a fan of the book, but I am definitely in the minority

I've been meaning to read this forever so I will attempt to get to it this month

I've actually started this now. I'm 13% in. Its cute but nothing overly special so far. Feels like younger YA as well.

I totally understand what you mean Brittany, I was so excited for it because of all the hype, but I wasn't convinced.

I finished it. Did not live up to the hype. It was okay.

This annoyed me (view spoiler)[ the parents knowing Ari was in love with Dante because he saved him from the car and then got angry and beat up the guy who almost beat Dante to death? No that does not state that they are in love. That states that he is a person who matters to him. I would be beyond furious if anyone attacked my friends/family like that and has nothing to do with romantic love. (hide spoiler)] rant over.

I hated that part too! It didn't make any sense and I hate it when simple acts of caring about people are immediately shoved into 'romantic feelings'

YES!!! People are allowed to care for and even love their friends without it being romantic.
