Annie | 424 comments 1. How Reading Changed My Life by Anna Quindlen

2. A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman - I loved this book!

3. A Burial at Sea by Charles Finch - I'm really enjoying this series!

Karol | 221 comments Annie, good luck to you with the challenge this year.

I hadn't heard of Finch's Charles Lenox series - but checking it out on Goodreads I see that the books in the series get very good reviews. I love mysteries, and I'm fascinated with Victorian England so this sounds like it would be right up my alley.

Annie | 424 comments Karol, The Lenox series is a fun read. Charles Finch has done a wonderful job stepping the reader into Victorian era England.

I've added the Charles Lenox series to my TBR. I wonder if the audiobooks are any good?

Annie | 424 comments 4. Secrets of the Lighthouse by Santa Montefiore - read this with an online book group. Light, enjoyable read.

5. A Death in the Small Hours by Charles Finch - each book seems better than the last in this series. Love the characters.

6. The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce - I read this with an online book group. I found Harold's journey to be a very thought provoking character study. I've added book 2, The Love Song of Queenie Hennessey, to my TBR pile.

7. Inkheart by Cornelia Funke - Another book group read. I first listened to this book as an audio book a few years ago. Enjoyed it then, but enjoyed it much more in print! Looking forward to reading book 2 and 3.

I can't believe it's already the end of April and I've only logged 7 titles so far. Time to somehow put life's busyness aside and get reading!

As long as you're reading, that's all that matters! The Inkheart series is in my TBR.

I have a couple Sarah Addison Allen books but haven't read them yet. I should get on that! :)

I recently read book 13 in this series, Dreaming Spies, and I really enjoyed it! Definitely want to start at #1 and read them all! But I didn't feel too out of place or anything starting in the middle of the series.

Annie | 424 comments Elyse, I read the first book a few years ago and was hooked! I currently have Dreaming Spies sitting on my shelf, waiting for me.

In today's mail I received a copy of Louise Penny's new book, The Nature of the Beast. Hard to decide which one to start next...

message 25: by Annie (new)

Annie | 424 comments 18. A Memory of Violets: A Novel of London's Flower Sellers by Hazel Gaynor. Enjoyable read, I appreciated the author's historical research.

Annie | 424 comments Just about three weeks left until 2016. I would love to hit a total of 25 by then. It's only 1/3 of my original goal but it's been a busy year. I'm only looking forward now!

Setbacks happen but as long as you're doing SOME reading, that's all that matters!

I agree with Elyse, some years there are things that take priority or just interest us more than reading. Reading 25 books is still more than the average person and it's an average of 2 a month with is a respectable number.
