Pratyusha Gupta | 3 comments Phew! Planning to be really ambitious with a 1000+ page book. Let's see if I can knock it out.

I have high expectations even though I'm not a King fangirl. Anyone have any thoughts?

Adriana Pereira (adrianacecilia) So far I've only read the "Shining" but I've noticed this book ranks high on several list I've been through and I ended up putting on my to-read shelf. I don't know if I'll read this year, but I'll keep an eye on what you think. Good reading!

Charity (faeryrebel78) I am reading this one for the book published the year you were born. I saw the movie on TV years ago and enjoyed it so I have high hopes for the book.

Krista (k_lou) | 48 comments The stand is one of my favourites of Stephen Kings works, good luck as it is very long, I hope you enjoy it.

Camilla I should take time and re-read this. It must be over 20 years since I read it, but I remember thoroughly enjoying it. How are you liking the book, Pratyusha?

Pratyusha Gupta | 3 comments I love it so far! Each character seems so real and intimate. It has hard at the very beginning to keep track of them all, but I'm really really loving it. King just tells such a good story in my opinion.

Anne Mey I really liked this one, the feeling of a force so strong that manages to link all the characters is something I like very much. I loved the TV show they made years ago and I read this huge book afterwards. It's a real journey you take with all the characters. Hope you'll enjoy your read.

Erin I have been skipping around so I'm just getting to this topic. My book club ambitiously chose this for our book last month and only about half our group got through it. I have enjoyed it much more than I was expecting so far. I just started book two. My last Stephen King experience was as a teenager when I read Needful Things and the villain randomly turned into a dragon and flew away. I keep bracing myself for the storyline to go to pot like that but I've been vehemently told it will not. I still have a million pages to go and a bunch of books to catch up on so wish me luck!
