Jeff Pedersen (pedersen_jeff) | 6 comments I am going to try this, but no guarantees on it.

message 4: by Jeff (new)

Jeff Pedersen (pedersen_jeff) | 6 comments wait does it have to be a book with exactly 500 pages or a book 500 or more?

Reva (revans) | 33 comments REVA ' S ULTIMATE CHALLENGE

Sure I'm in. What's one more challenge?

ally ¯\(ツ)/¯ (allykennedy) | 1002 comments A book with a love triangle... also known as "any YA book"
LOL!

ally ¯\(ツ)/¯ (allykennedy) | 1002 comments I stole/modified some off this list for my challenge! Thanks for the list Kirsten!

Stephanie - Just copy and paste on to your challenge, easy :)

message 10: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (darthval) | 411 comments I may give this a shot. My goal will be to see how many I can check off this year. I know it is unlikely that I will read them all, but no harm to see how far I get.

Thanks for the share.

message 11: by GailW (new)

GailW (abbygg) I'm in!

message 12: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 19 comments I'm in.

Cindy Metzler | 1 comments I'm in too!

message 15: by Renee (new)

Renee | 72 comments I set up a thread for this challenge too

message 16: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I think it'll be fun. It's really engaging some conversation over at the Cozy Mysteries group.

message 17: by Renee (last edited Jan 08, 2015 07:49PM) (new)

Renee | 72 comments I think so too. One down and 51 left to go for me! The only one that concerns me is the trilogy.

message 18: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I think I'm going to read Lev Grossman's The Magicians trilogy.

That's not the hardest one for me. It's funny to see what different people think is going to be the hard one.

None of the challenges sound too terribly hard. Though, I wonder about a book based entirely on its cover. It's been a long time since I read a book based just on its cover.

Though last year I read The Strange Case of the Mad Professor: A True Tale of Endangered Species, Illegal Drugs, and Attempted Murder based solely on the title.

message 19: by Renee (new)

Renee | 72 comments That's a great title!

message 20: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I know! The book is good too! A fascinating story. Found it quite by accident at my local library!

message 21: by Renee (new)

Renee | 72 comments I'll check it out. That's why I love doing these challenges...I get to discover some great books that I probably would not have considered if it wasn't for trying to meet a challenge.

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 27 comments I'm in. I saw it on Pintrest and thought it looked like a fun challenge.

message 23: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I agree. It's a really fun way to go through books you haven't read yet.

I am going to have to get a copy of Doctor Zhivago as that's the book my mom said she loved!

Cora (missteacher333) | 98 comments First Night of Summer- (3 stars) 1/50 down!

[X] A nonfiction book - All Joy and No Fun, Jennifer Senior

I would put that as Orange

message 32: by Gina (new)

Gina (gmjackson) I've just joined as well because it's hard to say no to a fun-looking challenge! I think the hardest one will be "A book you started but never finished." There's a reason I didn't finish it!

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 27 comments Thanks Lynn. I thought so :)

Wendy wrote: "What criteria are we using for "Classic Romance"?"

I think the only rule here is that it's your challenge, so you set your own criteria :)
I'm not doing the challenge myself (tempted but I have enough challenges going on) so I can't give you examples of what I'd use. Hopefully someone who is doing the challenge may come along.

message 36: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) The list is very open to interpretation. When it comes to classic romance I interpreted it as romances/love stories from classic literature but your interpretation may be different.

message 37: by Christy (last edited Jan 23, 2015 05:58AM) (new)

Christy Wendy wrote: "What criteria are we using for "Classic Romance"?"

I'm using Phantom of The Opera for Classic Romance. It was written a long time ago and it's a love story. That was my criteria.

message 38: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Sounds like a good criteria.

Good choice. I think I might have this audiobook.

Christy Valerie wrote: "I think I might have this audiobook."

The audiobook was very good! I listen to most of the books I read and occasionally I read along with the kindle version.

message 41: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (lm5590) | 16 comments I found this on Pinterest! I'm already done with the trilogy one - Fifty Shades of Grey!

message 42: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) If anyone needs help with "a book with bad reviews", HuffPo has this article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/01...

message 43: by Jackie (last edited Jan 29, 2015 08:41AM) (new)

Jackie Schuler (wackyjack) | 3 comments I've already finished 5 of them!

A funny book - 101 Secrets For Your Twenties

A book by a female author - Melody of the Heart (Runaway train #4)

A book set in a different country - Echoes of Scotlant Street (On Dublin Street #5)

A book you can finish in one day - Fall From India Place (On Dublin Street #4)

A book from my childhood - Island of the Blue Dolphins

Currently on "a memoir" and reading "Rocket Boys."

Tough challenge...don't know if I'll make it with a full and part time job.

message 44: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Just see how far you get, Jackie! Just remember, the goal is 52 books, no doubling up! LOL!

Two more down.
[X] A book you started but never finished – Dark Places, Gillian Flynn
[X] A book that takes place in your hometown (or close to where you live) – Wilderness, Lance Weller

Ayten wrote: "Is this a challenge for 2015 or a challenge in general that if we would like to take part we can begin/finish whenever?"

It's new for 2015 but you can take part whenever.

message 47: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Every challenge is individual to each person. I'm going to try and finish this year. But maybe the point is to do the whole thing, thus diversifying your reading.

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 27 comments For the one with "A book with 500 pages" that just means a book with 500 or more pages right or does it mean exactly 500 pages?

Yes, can you imagine trying to find a book with exactly 500 pages?

I know right hahahaha I was just wondering because some challenges want it to be in the 500 area but not go over it.
