Hey, everyone! I will start reading this today! So excited!
I know there is a movie, but should I watch it after I finish this?

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

I've heard it's really good!

I just read the first 18 pages. His family is really interesting. I don't know what to think of them yet. Charlie seems really innocent and 'soft' as they keep saying. He's going into high school but he sounds younger...

I completed the book two weeks ago. The book is very awesome. Charlie is really awesome and that's what gets him into wrong things!

bertille m (bertmarthou) I read the book before watching the movie and I thought the movie was really nice ! as always, not everything is pictured in the movie, but the emotions, relationships and characters were very well represented, in my opinion ! and the book is so great also, Charlie is so nice !

It was important, but kinda inappropriate tbh. Like, i did not expect to be hit with all that. I'm fine with it, it was just unexpected.

I just finished Part 1. I'm hoping to get more on his family. Especially his mom.

Isha (isha_suggests) | 2 comments Charlie seems too good to be true.

I’ve read a little after part three. I can’t believe that’s what happened to his aunt. I would feel the same way as Charlie.

The book is a bit depressing and it doesn't leave your mind for a few days(at least it happened in my case!).

Amelie | 1106 comments I enjoyed reading this book. It offered a unique perspective of growing up in high school, which was relatable in some ways. I liked how the book showed how everyone is different in their own way, and how we should all “participate” in life.

“Even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there.”

The book did cover major issues like sexuality, drug use, rape, and mental health, which gave it a bit of a negative vibe, but overall, I still enjoyed reading the book.

Amelie | 1106 comments Yes, Charlie is so innocent and smart! I really want to watch the movie now that I’ve read the book.
