I haven't read a ton of Chris Moore books, but the ones that I have read are genuinely entertaining! Fool reimagines Shakespeare's King Lear, told from the POV of his fool Pocket.
I admit that I have not read King Lear, but a quick wikipedia read gave me the general gist of the King and his three daughters. I found it very clever that Moore made Pocket the central figure of the story, implying that he was actually the character orchestrating all of the backstabbing and fighting. But is he really?
Based on the highly reputable Wikipedia, the ending of the story isn't true to its source material, but I enjoyed the modified ending more than I would have enjoyed the super tragic King Lear! lol.
All in all, a great selection for the comedy tag, and I got my Moore fix for a bit. Though I am definitely interested in continuing along with Pocket in The Serpent of Venice.
