My name is Alexandra McLaughlin and I recently published a novel called Aboard. I wanted to write something that spoke to the issues young women face as they manage real life and social media, but in a humorous way! This book is a new adult (main character just graduated university) romantic comedy.
Here is the back-cover blurb:
Elizabeth felt she was losing the social media game. While her friends were hiking mountains in Peru and petting exotic baby animals, she was going to her normal 9-5 and living in her normal apartment. Her Instagram posts just couldn't compete! Why did it seem like everyone's lives were so much better than hers?
One night she hit a breaking point, and after extensive vlogging research, she realized what she needed to do. Travel the Mediterranean in a gorgeous sail boat with, preferably, a hot man. True, she had never stepped foot on a boat of any size. But that was not going to deter her from getting the picture-perfect Facebook cover photo while relaxing in Sardinia.
Unfortunately, Elizabeth soon learns that what appears online does not necessarily translate into real life. She is thrown into a world of stormy seas, difficult relationships and eye-opening realizations about how she's been living her life.
I have an EPUB and MOBI copy of the book available to send you.
Let me know if you are interested in reviewing this!

But when she’s discovered by some dedicated individuals, they do their best to help her and her family find forever homes. Will Ceci be one of the lucky ones and find a new home?
I hope the book can help Ceci's family find forever homes. Like Ceci, they are hard-to-adopt. I also wish the book can inspire people to remain hopeful amidst adversity.

14 years ago, Owl Manor trembled with echoes of madness, mysterious deaths and marauding owls.
In 1870, Abigail fled the horror of Owl Manor with her fiancé, Peter. But she carried with her the terrible notion that she is unworthy of love, instilled by her reluctant mother. If her own mother could not love her, how would anyone else?
She trusts no one and keeps herself buried in a crypt of churning emotions, away from the world. Deep inside, her soul screams at the thought of dying alone and unloved.
Now she is back. Abandoned at the altar, and with nowhere to go, she returns to Owl Manor. Thus begin the nightmares of violent rage and destruction, ghostly images.
What really happened 14 years ago?
Enter Victor, the complete opposite of Peter, yet frighteningly familiar at times.
And the owls circle the sky once again.

• SUMMARY
A suicidal former platoon sergeant, sole survivor of a Vietnam War jungle ambush, is haunted by what he perceives as his cowardly past. Debilitated by guilt and mourning the death of his wife, small town newspaper publisher Stan Przewalski lives in a PTSD-fueled world where it is impossible to distinguish reality from fantasy.
Returning from a Vietnam sightseeing tour, his suppressed memories resurface with a vengeance as he deals with a murder and a raging wildfire that threatens to destroy his hometown of Bull River Falls, Colorado. The overly medicated vet meets a magical creature who wears paratrooper boots and rock band tee shirts and commands a subterranean army that believes Stan is the answer to their fight against unscrupulous real estate developers.
While they sabotage cell phone towers and government buildings, these supernatural friends provide an unlikely and outrageous path to Stan’s redemption.

Rachel’s husband is a cheater, and her friends have the perfect solution for her predicament, kill him without getting caught.
They were referring to a hypothetical contest, of course.
Entries to the contest pour in from friends and complete strangers. Some of the schemes were wacky, and some were so bizarre they made the girls laugh.
However, when Rachel’s husband dies as a result of one of the contest entries, the police investigate her, his former mistress, and a rival for his lover’s sexual favors.
One of the three is arrested for the crime, but did the police get it wrong?
This is the premise of my book, titled: The Contest.
If this blurb has piqued your interest, I will provide you with an e-copy to read and review.

Hi Mel!
This might be a few months too late but would you like to read a short murder mystery?
The title of the book is Smokes of Death Beer
Here is the description:
A town known for its smoked beer. What if this pint is your last?
Nina Banerjee wants to enjoy medieval architecture, history and Rauchbier in the charming town of Bamberg in Bavaria. But when she stumbles upon the dead body of a man she just shared a beer with, things take a turn for the worse.
This quaint town, with its half-timbered houses and touristy attractions, is not all that safe. It’s a playground for criminals, who run riot with murder on their minds.
What will Nina do? Will she sit still as Detective Robert Muller labels her a prime suspect, or will curiosity get the better of her?

Hi Mel. I have a contemporary romantic drama which is in need of reviews. THE THORN BUSH BY KITTY PYPER is free on Amazon at the moment.

Emotionally disadvantaged they struggle to cope with relationships as well as personal issues. The story is essentially a romance and highlights the power of love and loyalty in the face of adversity.

I would like to seek reviews for my book "Mr. Broccoli, from a series of up and coming books of Veggie Adventures.
Mr. Broccoli is the tale of a young boy, Jacob, who is feeling sad and fed up. Through discovering the health benefits of eating his greens, he becomes stronger and more confident. Anti-bullying is also an important theme in the story, to help children learn to respect others and feel more confident in themselves. Mr Broccoli is a character who already has that confidence, and later becomes a role model figure.
The book is available on Amazon Kindle:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Broccoli-Veg...
If anyone is interested to read and share their review on Goodreads and Amazon, I can send the PDF copy directly.

I've just released my third book, Welcome to the Zoo on the Kindle platform and am looking for reviewers in the categories of YA/General fiction.
This is a 160 page book about 4 scrappy kids romping through a series of adventures and mishaps, accompanied by a pint-sized mob of friends and pets. They devise sinister plots to kidnap the Tooth Fairy, dress up as Egyptian Mummies and leap out at unsuspecting strangers on dark nights, smuggle puppies into the house, drive their starchy governess to tears, and pummel each other in horrible wrestling matches. And that’s just the first few chapters.
Set in small-town India of the early 90s, these stories will take you back to the simpler time of childhood. . I wrote this during the COVID lockdown when I wanted a light, funny, happy read that would take my mind off the chaos around us.
I’m looking for reviews on Amazon and Goodreads and would be happy to send you an EPUB or PDF copy if you think you would be interested in reading and reviewing this.

Hi Mel,
If my below comedic memoir is of interest to you, I can send it to you in epub or mobi format. It's ~52k words. Thanks for your consideration!
"I'll Laugh About This Later" book description:
My name is not Zoey, but the rest of this story is pretty legit. I did grow up in Hawaii, and I do check the boxes "two or more races" and "millennial" on surveys. My journey includes a cast of close relations who are managing schizophrenia, OCD, hoarding, and sticking-head-in-sand. I have included an unhealthy dose of detail regarding my struggles sexing and relationshiping. I also share my struggles to try the make-the-world-a-better-place thing, despite my urge to sprint away from every mildly uncomfortable conversation. I've been lucky to find humor in most of my life. There may be bits of this story that bum you out. However, I'll only let that go on for a few pages before I say something awkward that you might laugh at. For example, if I tell you someone dies, I'll quickly follow up by telling you about the time a 12ish year old boy hit on me at a grocery store. (He may have mistaken my work backpack for middle school gear, or he may have just been a baller.) There's a splash of politics and COVID-19 pandemic fun in here too. I would describe this story as having a happy ending.

When the world collapses from a Golden Age into one of chaos and strife, mankind’s salvation lies in the hands of eternal Emissaries — guardians chosen to protect the secrets of a sacred, ancient civilization and to guide humanity back to enlightenment even as its darkest hour approaches…
A timeless tale of love reborn through the ages.
Marcus has past life memory, and his soulmate Theron does not, but the two lovers are bound by an eternal and unshakable bond. As a series of catastrophic events nearly destroys their world, the two along with a chosen few become Emissaries destined, over the course of 13,000 years and through many reincarnations, to lead humanity into an era of peace and prosperity as foretold by the Elders of their race. But the forces of evil have taken possession of one man, Helghul, who relentlessly pursues Marcus and Theron through time, determined to destroy them and ruin all hope for salvation.
The Emissary, Book I in The One Great Year Series, tracks Marcus’s epic adventure across centuries of human civilization to present day, where envoys of darkness gather around them threatening to bury the life-giving secrets of Atitala forever.
Good and evil come to blows and the future of mankind hangs in the balance.

Hi Mel,
Would you be interested in reading and maybe reviewing my book? I have a mystery-suspense drama with a thriller twist. There is also a hint of romance in it.
Tammy Bartow is wrestling with another bout of insomnia when she glances out her bedroom window and sees a shadow creeping along the cold Alaskan ground near her neighbor’s yard. Ever since her neighbor Marta Gray, married Alexander (Ax), an ex-con who has already served time for murder, fear has hung over the neighborhood like a dark cloud. But as she eventually returns to bed, she has no idea that in a few hours, she will learn a murder has taken place in her neighbor’s barn. After Marta finds the corpse of Alexander’s best friend, Ivan, all evidence points toward her husband who had been drinking all night with Ivan—so much that he blacked out and cannot remember anything. Marta, blind with love, refuses to believe that Alexander could have committed such a chilling act and convinces Tammy of the same. Meanwhile as Detective Andy Mohr attempts to sort out the complex case, he realizes that this is the second time alexander has on Mother’s Day. Is it pure coincidence or a bloody pattern?

So when Leon starts dreaming of his long-gone brother, he knows the dreams hold some significance… but will he discover what it all means before it’s too late? With his girlfriend and a small group, Leon and his party strike out in search of truth. They encounter fantastic beasts, traverse intensely beautiful landscapes, and fight heroic battles. All the while, Leon’s dreams continue to warn him that something is coming. Along his journey he’s going to have to fight his fears, find the hero within himself, and become what—and who—he’s destined to be. Will he discover his strength before it’s too late? Thank you so much for your time and I hope you enjoy it! Please also leave an Amazon review if you would.

I saw on your profile that one of fav's is the Harry Potter: The Complete Collection. I loved reading these with my daughter and then watching the film versions after we finished each book. Seeing as my daughter loved Harry Potter and my debut novel Shimmer I thought you may like it too.
Shimmer was inspired when my cat 'White Nose' died in 2017. More accurately the novel was inspired by a poem I wrote (included in the book) called 'The Cat in the Moon' written the day 'White Nose' died.
Shimmer is about a cat and a girl who both lose their way but, when they meet, help each other to find their way back home.
My actor daughter Emily (aged 12) has started an audiobook version of 'Shimmer' which can be found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...
If the audiobook whets your appetite then please message me on goodreads and I would be more than happy to send you a free copy to read & review.
Warm Regards

Hi, Mel!
I would be so honored if you read my novel A Mirror above the Abyss. Political thriller based on real and well-known tragic events and refuting the official versions. The intelligent action filled with facts and evidence appears to You. It proves that global events did not happen at all like it is generally understood.
So, Kennedy wasn't killed by Oswald, who had been framed in advance, but by a woman - a professional sniper who worked on an unusual order. The man who planned and carried out the September 11 attacks in New York was just one kilometer from crumbling skyscrapers. The assassination attempt on Pope John Paul was being prepared to hide billion bank scams, and the pontiff knew about it. These and other significant events of the last 60 years turn out to be interconnected, leaving the trail to a criminal syndicate ... from one person, and from him to the highest establishment and intelligence services of the United States and other countries. https://www.amazon.com/MIRROR-ABOVE-A...

I am looking for reviews on my book, THE CABIN.
It’s a psychological thriller. I see that you love reading thrillers too and I hope you like my book.
Here is the book blurb:
<>
She tried hard, to stand still, to control her trembling, to squeeze her thumping heart. Holding onto the razor-sharp scalpel that suddenly felt heavy.
Murder? No, that was not a part of the plan.
When Ohio based Aria decided to join her friends on their camping trip in a secluded location, deep in the forests of Dandeli; she was looking forward for that last dashing weekend before heading for college.
But then, two strangers join. When Anya introduces her mysterious boyfriend, Kai and his cheerful, and yet over-friendly best friend Rylan; Aria feels something is off.
Initially, everything seems fun, but when Rylan suggests they spend the weekend at his Cabin, Aria couldn’t shake off the feeling that they can’t come back from what they are going into.
THE WEEKEND NEVER ENDED!

I used to be big into reading and reviewing ARC's, or any books for that matter, just to open up different genres and connect with people, I took a good few years out to complete my degree and decided I want to jump straight back in!!
If anyone would be willing to send me any books they would like read and reviewed I would be MORE than happy!!
You can contact me here or at loudelah0@gmail.com.

Hello Leah, my name is Louisa!
I saw your post and thought I'd check and see if you'd be interested in reading a
Paranormal Romance (rated 18+)
I'll drop the synopsis of Magic & Mayhem below and leave contact info in case you are interested!
(In brief, I'd describe Magic & Mayhem as a fast-paced paranormal romance that will appeal to fans of the show, Charmed and authors such as, Jeaniene Frost and Stephenie Meyer.)
𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜 & 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐡𝐞𝐦
𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡, 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐚𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥.
At a young age, Lucy learned that monsters and demons weren't just in stories, they were real. She saw demons kills mother. Haunted by that horrifying event, she learned how to wield the magic she possesses and how to fight. Now, she spends her nights hunting and killing demons.
𝐃𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐥𝐟, 𝐰𝐡𝐨'𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞.
Deklan has always considered himself laid back, but not anymore, not since he lost the person he was closest to in this world - his best friend, Tuk. Now, Deklan's a wolf on a mission and he won't rest until he finds Malek, the demon that killed Tuk, and exacts revenge.
𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐟𝐥𝐲, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐥𝐟.
A misunderstanding the first night their paths cross, has Lucy and Deklan clashing. They go their separate ways, only to have their paths cross again. The circumstances of their second meeting, lead them towards teaming up against evil.
The more time they spend together, the more they learn about one another, the less this witch and werewolf clash and the closer they become.
As their relationship heats up, as they close in on their enemies, a revelation leaves them reeling.
Will Lucy and Deklan rally and triumph over the evil they seek to destroy… or will their enemies destroy them?
Let me know if you're interested - either with reply to this comment, or msg me here on goodreads - and I can gift you the ebook through Amazon. :)
Cheers!
Hope to hear from you!
