Go to the group bookshelf and there nearly 300 books on there that could be considered underhyped that people were reading or suggested last time =)

message 4: by Claire (new)

Claire Graves I am reading a great book at the moment. Its called 28 and a half wishes and is by Denise Grover Swank. I've never heard of her before, and this book is great.

message 5: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kielianne) | 3 comments Hmm might read some more "local" books again this year, though my TBR from last year was a bit over ambitious so I might just continue with what's still TBR on it. heh

message 6: by Keeley (new)

Keeley (abibliophilesjourney) | 2 comments Currently reading a few books but ones that I'm hoping to read during the readathon are The Undertakers Daughter by Kate Mayfield, Prototype by MD Waters, The In-Between by Barbara Stewart, Rain Reign by Ann M Martin, Seed by DB Nielsen, and maybe One Kick by Chelsea Cain.

I don't know how many ratings/reviews those books have but they are ones that I really want to read and haven't seen on booktube that much or at all.

message 7: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vll1990) I'll be taking part this time around methinks! I am picking books with under 10,000 reviews because it seemed like a good ballpark figure to go by from Charlotte's video. Hopefully I can get a TBR video up this weekend!

message 8: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (fuzzydragons) | 3 comments I'm just going to try to re-read as many of these https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... as I can. Figure its been over 5 years, I should read them again :)

message 9: by Sue (new)

Sue Moro (moro) | 8 comments I'll be taking part in the Readathon again this year! I'll be posting my TBR video this weekend.

message 10: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla How is 'underhyped' being defined for this challange? I haven't done this one before so I'm not sure what to put on my TBR.

Last time we went with under 10,000 ratings but it's up to you and what you have available to you on your shelves. Personally all of mine are under 1000 ratings =)

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Again, I'll be going with books under 5,000 ratings. I'll be reading Knights of the Hill Country by Tim Tharp, The Outsider by Melinda Metz and Reap by Eric Rickstad (if there's time).
Knights of the Hill Country by Tim Tharp The Outsider (Roswell High, #1) by Melinda Metz Reap by Eric Rickstad

message 13: by Souhaila (new)

Souhaila (souhailamaider) Here are some books that I plan on trying to read during this readathon. Of course, I won’t be able to read them all, but I’ll try my best :)

1. The Flowers of War by Geling Yan
2. The Scandalous Summer of Sissy LeBlanc by Loraine Despres
3. Reservation Blues by Sherman Alexie
4. Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson
5. Everybody Sees the Ants by A.S. King

message 14: by Zara (last edited Jan 15, 2015 04:34PM) (new)

Zara (zarazara) I just went through my entire TBR list of 600+ books and put all the ones that had fewer than 5,000 ratings on a list...then I went through that and picked 5 for next week's TBR:

1. Adaptation by Malinda Lo
2. Moth Smoke by Mohsin Hamid
3. Want Not by Jonathan Miles
4. The Doubt Factory by Paolo Bacigalupi
5. The Living by Matt de la Pena

I picked these because I already own all of them except The Living, and my university library has a copy of that one. Also, I managed to get three diverse books into the mix, so not too bad! I don't actually plan on being able to read all of these next week because I have a *lot* of class reading this semester (woo senior seminars!), but I wanted to give myself a few to pick from.

message 15: by Arianna (new)

Arianna Here's my TBR:

1.Baol. Una tranquilla notte di regime by Stefano Benni
2.Pantera by Stefano Benni
3.Presagio triste by Banana Yoshimoto
4.Il giorno prima della felicità by Erri De Luca

Most of these books are in italian and they're so underhyped they weren't even translated in english, LOL (except for Baol I think)

message 16: by A. (new)

A. Musquiz (booksmusiclife1) | 2 comments Not sure if any of these are under hyped but I have heard little to nothing about these books so here's my TBR for he read-a-thon:
1. Faithful by Janet Fox
2. Asylum by Madeline Roux
3. Three Rivers Rising by Jame Richards
4. The Edge Of Falling by Rebecca Serle

I'm hoping these are good books!

message 20: by Victoria (new)

1. Soldier dog by Sam Angus
2. Skjebnens sønn by Valerio Massimo Manfredi (reading this book in Norwegian all though it's originally Italian.)
3. Phenomena 1-4 by Ruben Eliassen

message 21: by E (new)

E (fleurinka24) | 7 comments I put together a TBR pile somehow, but it's like always overly enthusiastic - 8 books. I'm already halfway through some of them so I'm hoping to finish these - Doris Lessing's The Cleft and a short story collection Empower: Fight like a Girl. Both of these I started ages ago so I really need to get to them.
I'm also hoping to with an audiobook of something underhyped so I could listen to it tomorrow in work.
Most of my underhyped picks have under 1,000 rating, only the Doris Lessing book has under 2,000 rating (good enough for me).

Here's my whole TBR: http://redlipstickcase.blogspot.cz/20...

Tanya (aka ListObsessedReader) (listobsessed) | 2 comments I have put together my TBR! So excited to participate this time around!

All of my choices are obscure Australian titles, a couple of which are part of a project I am doing this year, and the highest comes in at only 133 ratings!

So the books I have chosen are
1. Beware the Gingerbread House by Emily Rodda
2. Soldier on the Hill by Jackie French
3. The Comet Box by Adrian Stirling
4. South of Darkness by John Marsden
and 5. Godfather Was A Girl: . . . And Blanche Dubois Was A Guy by Eamon Evans

I have also made a TBR video if you are interested which is here: http://youtu.be/3QM1a5nb8v4

message 26: by Amanda (new)

Amanda My list of books contains(all under 10,000 ratings)
1. Aushwitz by Laurence Rees (7000)
2. 12 Years a Slave by Solomon Northup(150)
3. After the King edited by Martian H. Greenberg(600)

I think these might actually be the only books I own under the 10,000 mark since most of my books are older and classics. I might make it through my list and if I do, I will have a hard time decieding what to read next.
Good Luck to all!!!

message 27: by Lieke (new)

John Boyne - Stay Where You Are And Then Leave
Ester Verhoef - Erken mij

Jen I've just started The Crash Of Hennington by Patrick Ness, I meant to read it for the first readathon but didn't have time. So far I really like it.

message 32: by Ashleigh (new)

message 34: by Christina (new)

Christina | 2 comments also a first timer for this readathon. I am going to be reading Thane by K.R. Flanagan. It has 4 ratings. I stumbled across this author's page on facebook last year and then got the book.
