I'm trying to make a list with the best Indie (self-published) fantasy books out there.

Can you help me out please?

Which are the books you think would deserve to be on this 'Best of List'?

The Sword of Kaigen by M.L. Wang
The Bird and the Sword by Amy Harmon

Innkeeper series by Illona Andrews
Kingfountain by Jeff Wheeler
The Brackenford Cycle by Nick Moseley

Definitely The Sword of Kaigen by M.L. Wang like Tammie said!

Also: Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft.

@Mayim - I wanted to read Sword of Kaigen from the time Scott recommended it, but life got in the way of that BR. I'll read it this month though. And I'll add Senlin Ascends to the list too.

Laura, I fell over the moon with this book. It made me cry (and I rarely get emotional because I am a heartless creature).

PS I meant Kaigen, but Senlin is unique too (and there is no rush with the latter as it is still unfinished)

You and I both seem to hate starting unfinished series Mayim. And I am absolutely reading that book this month!!

I read a self published book called Good Blood (by Billy Ketch Allen) earlier in the year that I found highly entertaining.

Yes it is. I think all of Amy Harmon's books are.

No Graeme - just Best Indie Fantasy Book. Regardless of what it is with.

There are ultimately only a few there that absolutely rock and they are all in different subgenres or with different characters. I want to know which those titles are that people consider to be 'The Best'.

Two indie authors that I've really enjoyed:

The Amra Thetys series by Michael McClung starting with The Thief who Pulled on Trouble's Braids - these novels are really fun and great palate cleansers between heavier tomes :-)

My son (14 yrs old) and I both absolutely loved Sir Thomas the Hesitant and the Table of Less Valued Knights by Liam Perrin - warm, funny and wise :-)
