I read this section differently - I flicked forward and got all the research out of the way first (yep, still unneeded repetition of things), and then went back and just read the story. Holy cow! The story is so much better and flows massively without all the nonsense pauses. The tension doesn’t drop and just keeps smashing it through each chapter, rather than deflating.

I’m loving that the Dark One is being portrayed as a more understandable villain! Kinda sad the bartender was not just a nice nerdy friend though. Would have been nice to make buddies and take him on a trip to see Earth after the impending battle or something.

Also, remember when Sloane threw the needle in the river...the same river they emerged from in this world. Do you think that it is still there? She could do some epic showdown fighting with that thing.

I can't believe I didn't spot the Ferris Bueller names! Hah!
