I'm liking how Lu is exploring the idea of how fear and anger drive you towards vengeance and taking power into your own hands, and how pain is the only way to draw out this dark power. In a way it's uncomfortable to read. I've had experience with abuse in the past and I can relate to some of Adelina's feelings- the wishing I could do something so bad to the other person to punish them. It's a deep topic to explore. In a way Adelina reminds me a little bit of Mara Dyer, too. Anyone else see that?
Also, I'm curious why Adelina's chapters are written in first person POV and the other character's chapters are written in third person limited? Lu must have a reason for that.
So many questions I need to have answered!!! And I really hope Lu discusses how this fever brought about their powers. Are The Young Elites really connected to the gods? Why were they chosen? Is there a larger plan in place (kind of like in the Daughter of Smoke and Bones trilogy for those who have read that?).
