Some famous Dark Fantasy books are-
•The Black Company
•The Blade Itself ( It is set on grand,
epic scale and has a sense of dark humor too)
• The Gunslinger
• The Young Elites ( it's a YA Fantasy but the main character is antihero and it has a dark theme)

Superpowered Group, CHECK!
Crazy, Badass girl wanting to take over the throne, CHECK!!

Vicious This one is really good. It switches between two timelines centering around the same character. No spoilers but the two opposing characters are so rooted in their beliefs that neither of them realize the consequences of their actions. It's part of a series but it was meant to be a standalone so it ends really well.
Oo I love Vicious too!!!!
The plot revolves around the relationship of two psychopaths.
Victor, one of them, is one of my all time favorites

High fantasy is a completely different world than ours. An example would be an author creating a new map and magic systems. That's high fantasy.
Other fantasy books can be set in the real world.
In dark fantasy the tone is usually more disturbing or has elements of horror and death. Like Harry Potter is considered normal fantasy. It's set in the real world with magic added to make it different. If Hogwarts was a school for Death Eater wizards that harvested blood from victims (idk) and featured graphic details about the horrors then it would be dark fantasy. Sometimes dark fantasy can also mean a dark protagonist. Like a main character that doesn't fit the usual "hero" role.
