Laurel Ragland | 22 comments Read 12 on my TBR list (and another 16 not on the list) so completed Pike's Peak and moving upward!

13th read was The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell. Gave it to my husband and he read it 18 months ago. But the timing was right. This was a book for now. Five stars.

Laurel Ragland | 22 comments 15th read The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin. Bought when it was trending. but then it sounded morbid. It wasn't. It was intriguing.

16th read The God of Small Things by Aruhundi Roy. Bought the Audible on sale because I heard she was a good writer. Wow. Likely one I will reread because it was so structured and literary, I feel I missed all that was there.

a book I added to my TBR a couple of years ago as a possible fulfillment of a Book Riot challenge that included a translated book.
I read something else at the time. still intrigued me. Unique concept novel.

Laurel Ragland | 22 comments 18th read was Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders. Was on my list for a couple of years because of the buzz but after I read Tenth of December by him and enjoyed his unique voice and content, I was motivated. Wow. FIVE STARS.

I noticed it last fall and put it on my list. Mostly because it takes place in Denver and the foothills where I grew up. It was just ok. Kept me reading but not memorable.
