Thanks

The easiest way is to click on that person's name you want to message. The hyperlink of that person's name in a message thread will redirect you to their Goodreads' profile page. On their profile, click on "More" and you will see more options including "Message." Once you click on that you will be able to compose a private message. Just be mindful that unsolicited review requests or promotions could be seen as spam per Goodreads' guidelines.
I hope that helped.

And I found 28 'mores' on your page but nothing that showed more options. Color me olde:)

Another alternative way to message people is to click on the message icon at the far top right of your screen (two spots to the left of your profile icon) and then manually enter the profile name and then compose a message that way.

And I have no idea about profile settings either:)
Does GR have any sort of user manual anywhere?
Now I see on your page there is a follow author icon under your picture but it also has the send message option there along with some other options.
When I look at my page it seems very different and I do not find the more on my page either -- as you had shown it.
maybe GR has different views for different people depending on unknown factors.

It doesn't really help in terms of navigating the site. It's more of a guide in adding, or editing details regarding a book uploaded in Goodreads. However, there is a feature to ask a question to Goodreads directly so maybe you could start there?
Sorry I wasn't of much help.
For all those indie writers that struggled with making sales, finding readers, or maybe haven't even started down this path because they have no idea where to start I've been there, done that. Now I want readers to learn from my mistakes by empowering them with the knowledge and tools they need to successfully self-publish a book from beginning to end.
