This is a tricky one for a lot of people. Here's some websites with extensive lists of authors:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_...

Oddly enough, there is no list of male authors on Wikipedia!

Linda Okay how do people feel about using the initials of your maiden name if you are married?

Whatever works best for you. :-)

Darlene Vendegna Anne, thanks very much for the link to that fantastic fiction list. I wasn't sure how I was going to find an author with my initials of DV, but thanks to your list I found several. In fact the first two authors I chose have books that I've added to my to read list. I'm on my 19th book out of the list of 50, so thanks for providing number 20.

Valerie | 280 comments What I did was type in my category I wanted to read in and then my first name (and a common one that started with my initial) Then, looked at what popped up. Heck with predictive software on Amazon, I could type in half of my first name under books, and I got one. (My last initial is a P. Valerie Plame comes up for a nice suspense.

I figured there had to be a romance book with an author named Valerie, Victoria, Vickie, etc. And, I was right. Had to purchase it, but was able to get at a used book store for a couple of bucks.

If you have something like a z, it might be a whole lot easier. Besides...how would we know.

How about a middle initial?

There is an author name Zoe Lucas who wrote a couple of books about horse. You can type in the name at Amazon and they will pop up.

Zachary Lazar:
Aaron, Approximately (1998)
Sway (2008)
Evening's Empire: The Story of My Father's Murder (2009),
I Pity the Poor Immigrant (2014)

Good luck! I thought my initials were hard, but your Z does set the bar higher!

Cyndy (cyndy-ksreader) | 231 comments If need be, another option is to reverse your initials. They are still your initials - just a little outside the box from the way most of us think!

Raven (ravenkingsley) | 47 comments Having a serious problem finding someone with O.G. Seriously considering going backwards and (re)reading something by George Orwell. Or checking out something based on my own pseudonym as a writer, then it would be R.K. Suggestions welcome, though.

message 17: by Anne (new)

Anne I just went to a bookstore and started scanning the books with authors with a family name with F to check if there were any with a first name with A. I was surprised, but it turned out there were 3 different authors (and it wasn't a big bookstore) with initials AF. Maybe that could work for you too? You could do the same in a library of course.

The prompt says with your initials...does not say IN ORDER. I would say go for it with George Orwell.

Victoria (RedsCat) (redscat) Nancy Werlin is the first to pop into my brain :)
