Re-read a book that sparks joy for you or read a feel-good book.

I'm re-reading the Queen of Babble series by Meg Cabot this month.

Tejal (ohsodebonair) | 78 comments I was going to do a re-read of The Art of Fielding or Emma but I think I'll read something new. There's a few very fluffy light summer reads I have bought recently that would probably fit this challenge like Happiness for Humans or The Authenticity Project.

court. If I have the time to do so, I'll read The Miseducation of Cameron Post again, I loved it so so much. I seriously really enjoin you guys to check it out <3

Alyssa (girlcomeundone) | 155 comments i think i'm going to read Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man's Fundamentals for Delicious Living for this month's challenge!

message 6: by Jairo (new)

Jairo (jairosoares) I'm re-reading The Boy Next Door by Meg Cabot. I read it for the first time when I was a teenager and I remember finding it really joyous.

message 7: by Avery (new)

Avery | 20 comments I've been wanting to complete The Chronicles of Narnia series so I'm going to start by rereading The Magician's Nephew and I'm hoping I still enjoy it as much as I did when I read it before.

lanie | 12 comments I was reading The Summer of Impossibilities this month and it unexpectedly fit the theme. I love that it had such well-rounded characters and a heart-warming story that (I felt) didn't edge over into cheesy. Every time I picked it up before bed, I had to stop myself from staying up too late and devouring it. After reading a lot of heavy things lately, this book was such a treat.

Dainey | 69 comments I'm gonna go with yet another Pratchett, this time my absolute favourite: Night Watch.

To me, this is where he reached his peak. The humour was so on point, the characters so deep and human, and that righteous anger at injustice burning so brightly.

message 10: by Lyn (new)

Lyn | 13 comments I'm going to reread Gods of Jade and Shadow. I love that book so much and I was really happy when I recommended it to two friends in the last month and they loved it too.

message 11: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (pajamafish) I was able to get three library books out of hold limbo and into my hands. I read one last month, but have The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek and When We Were Vikings. I don't know if either of these can be called "feel good," I don't know if I'll like them, and I don't know if this totally counts as cheating on the prompt but I am just so happy to have library books checked out again (first time since April!) that I'm counting it, because my joy is definitely sparked.

message 12: by Juliana (new)

Juliana (julzreads) | 94 comments I'm going through the Harry Potter series again. As much as JKR is trash, these books are even better the second time around. I've gotten through 1-4 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was during this month. It's been bumped up from from number 3 to number 1 in this re-read!
I'm 2/3rds done with Order of the Phoenix and definitely looking forward to reading 6 and 7.

Alyssa (girlcomeundone) | 155 comments So i finished Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man's Fundamentals for Delicious Living and sadly it did NOT spark joy. it didn't even spark a smile! i've got to think about what if anything i might read for this challenge since my first choice failed. I just picked up a thriller and I usually enjoy those so maybe that will be it.

Tejal (ohsodebonair) | 78 comments I read Happiness for Humans and it was fine? I liked the subversion of the romance genre but the execution felt off, and idk I guess I was in the mood for a more traditional feel-good romance.

message 15: by Sasha (new)

Sasha | 104 comments This was one of the easier months for me. All I've wanted to read are Pride and Prejudice variations, which mostly spark joy. Usually I'm not crazy about the endings, but like 70% of it. I've read about 8 of those so far. My favorite one out of that bunch would be The Houseguest: A Pride and Prejudice Vagary

As for re-reads, I started with Dark Witch which isn't that great but hits all these cliches and tropes about Ireland with magic that work for me. And What Happens in London. There are certainly things now I dislike about it compared to when I initially read it, but I just enjoy the main pair a lot.

message 16: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (brittsreads) I read I Tried to Change So You Don't Have to Lib/E: True Life Lessons and it made me laugh out loud several times.

The Magician's Nephew is my favorite in the Narnia series. Well, I guess I should say so far... I started reading them all ~10 years ago and finished most of them except for The Silver Chair.

Aesha (aesha_) | 31 comments I was going to read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, because the introduction to the wizarding world still fills me with delight. In the end, I chose Bloodlines. I don't care, I love that series and it sucks me in. I can't ever read just one though, so now I'm on book 3.
