Finishing School series by Gail Carringer
Lucy Kincaid series by Allison Brennan

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
no

Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children books always get 5 stars. I also really enjoyed the Lucy Kincaid book.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?

Viki (vikir) | 814 comments 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month? Nope
2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
Bride Quartet series by Nora Roberts. I will defintely continue with this series. It was pretty good.
Spice Shop Mysteries by Leslie Budewitz - Not sure yet if I will continue with this or not.
3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
Yes - I moved forward in the Stephanine Plum series by Janet Evanovich.
4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?

High Five (Stephanie Plum, #5) by Janet Evanovich This was my only outstanding book this book, I just love the humor and the mystery to this series. It made me laugh many times which I needed!
5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I thought I did pretty well with reading 4 books this month!

Christina T (crysteena73) | 558 comments 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
Yes I completed the Charley Davidson series. I'm caught up on the Bromance Book Club series until October.

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
Yes I started 6...which is pretty par for the course for me. If you consider my re-reads of Blindsighted and Naked in Death (In Death #1) by J.D. Robb technically that makes 8.
I will continue with 6 of them but wasn't as keen on Get a Life, Chloe Brown as many others were. So much more sex than I thought it would have and even though it was a good book I wanted more sweetness and romance rather than smexy times.
Some of the better ones were...
Killer Jam (A Dewberry Farm Mystery, #1) by Karen MacInerney Books Can Be Deceiving (Library Lover's Mystery, #1) by Jenn McKinlay Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1, Mercy Thompson World - Complete #2) by Patricia Briggs (I love Anna and Charles) Bringing Home the Bad Boy (Second Chance, #1) by Jessica Lemmon

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
Yes. I moved forward in 10 series counting 2 I started in June but moved past the first book so I counted it.

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
Yes 2 of them.
Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1, Mercy Thompson World - Complete #2) by Patricia Briggs I loved the characters so much. Anna is very complex. Her forced submission didn't destroy her and I love the idea of an Omega wolf.
A Merciful Silence (Mercy Kilpatrick, #4) by Kendra Elliot was the other one. I loved the suspense in this book and how Mercy is really embracing the relationship between her and Truman.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I read 25 books and one novella in June. My biggest monthly score to date. 2 were 5 stars, 18 were 4 stars, and the rest were 3 or 3.5. So no bad books but a few of them were disappointing including the last Charley Davidson book and the first 2 Troubleshooters come to mind.

message 7: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 3258 comments 1.Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
Completed
Vampire club - X Aratare
Sinners of Saint - L. J. Shen
In the Shadow Security - Jeanne St James
Up to date
Psy/Changeling Trinity - Nalini Singh
Fallen men - Giana Darling
Clan beginning - Tracy St. John

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
Vampire club by X Aratare. This was a Serialization. 7 books(novellas) and was recommended to wait till the last one was out. Thank goodness I did. I hate cliffhangers!! These books left the door open for more to follow, shoot offs etc. If the author does that I will definitely be getting them. What she has out at the moment doesn't interest me. It's graphic novels or subject matter that doesn't draw me.
Brother in blue by Jeanne St. James. I have a love/hate relationship with this author. Some series I like and some I just don't like. The writing is good and the storyline works. But it's the characters and specifically the ladies. They are strong, independent, well educated ladies but I just don't understand them or the choices the make. The guys are okay but nothing that shout he's a keeper. I've one more to go I. This series that will probably read.
The cloister by Celia Aaron. This I got as a freebie. And I think I didn't do my homework before 1-clicking it. On paper I think this sound like my kind of read. And full disclosure I started this and jumped to the end and found out I should read it properly. The biggest problem I think was I'm just not in the mood for this subject matter. I'm unsure if I will return or just remove it from my shelf altogether.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
Yes
In Death - J. D. Robb
Pure/Dark ones - Aja James
Psy/Changeling Trinity - Nalini Singh
Harley Wylde MC (all her MC series are sort of interlinked so I'm reading it as a whole instead of individual series)
Fallen men - Giana Darling
Brother's in blue - Jeanne St. James

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
Beside Apprentice in death the Vampire club would have been 5* all the way except for the cliffhanger ending with each book upto book 7. I loved writing. I loved the characters and how the twist and turns kept me coming for more.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I managed 24 books this months. Most of novellas. And on the whole it was average in that some stood out and some where just okay.

I am so glad we are reading the Lucy Kincaid series, Jonetta. All of Allison Brennan's books have been great and I love the characters.

message 13: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 1722 comments 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
I finished a series: De Piraten van hiernaast, it is a dutch children's series that was funny (and short audio books).
And got up to date in one: Ready Player One.

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
I started 4 new series,
one I won't continue Trubbel de trol because the library doesn't have the next audiobooks and it was a funny children's book but not fun enough to buy the rest.
One I finished already this month: Eight Cousins by Louisa May Alcott.
One where only one book is out so I'm up to date know, but I want to read book 2 when it comes out: Ready Player One.
And I read Niet zonder elkaar by Jill Shalvis, I would like to continue that series too.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
I already mentioned all series I moved forward in.
(I listened to 5 books in the De Piraten van hiernaast series :))

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
Ready Player One, I don't give 5 stars often, but I really enjoyed this book. Great story, characters and great look back at the eighties.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
Listening to a lot of children's book made my amount of books go up a bit more this month :)
I listened to 8 books and read one paper book.

Jessika (jessika_56) 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
No.

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
Yes! I started the graphic novel series Locke & Key, got hooked, read the first 3 plus 2 of the short stories. 3 more to read from the main series, and 1 more short story to go.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
Just Locke & Key, as mentioned above.

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
I really enjoyed Educated. This book was very popular 2 years ago when it first came out. An interesting "inside look" to a family of end-of-the-world preppers, but honestly was so much more than that. Kind of like the author's real life coming-of-age story.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
June was a pretty good month. I finished 8 books and enjoyed all of them. :)
