2017 Reading Challenge discussion

For some reason, this category appealed to me right away so I quickly sought out a book by an author with my initials. The name Anchee Min was immediately recognizable to me, but I had never read any of her work.

I am about halfway through this book - the story of two girls living through the Chinese cultural revolution in the late 60's and early 70's. I'm about half finished - I'll report back soon!

Finished! I enjoyed the story of three young people struggling with their passions for each other and for Mao during what must have been very strange times. It makes me want to read more about that period in history.
