Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments This is a fun category, covering all genres. As long as there is a color in the title, anything goes! There are several lists on Goodreads about colorful titles if you are having trouble finding books.

Read up to 5 books that have a color in the title.

"A Dead Red Cadillac" by R.P. Dahlke. This was a free Kindle title when I got it - surprisingly good story about a fashion model turned crop duster who becomes an amateur sleuth when her vintage Caddy is found in a lake with a corpse behind the wheel. Fun read.

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Just finished:

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Color in both the title AND the author's name!

message 5: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 319 comments A colour double whammy take down achieved with The Red Hand and The White People...shame they aren't two separate books!

message 6: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Douglass (rdouglass) | 379 comments Aw, I could have put the Black Arrow here. Guess I still can. I'll go delete if from the foreign setting thread. I read plenty of books set outside the US.

Ok, Rebecca, I have the Black Arrow for you under "Color in the Title". Correct?

message 8: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Douglass (rdouglass) | 379 comments Correct, O wondrous leader!

message 10: by Michael (new)

Michael (michaelbl) | 200 comments I already posted a book about Japan as one of my other country books so I will post this one here. Finished Feb. 19.

Hokkaido Highway Blues by Will Ferguson by Will Ferguson Will Ferguson

This is a very humorous travel memoir. I really enjoyed this book.

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Rebecca wrote: "Missed one: add The Green Mill Murder"

You had this one added under the monthly special "It's not easy being green". Do you want to move it here or keep it there?

message 15: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Douglass (rdouglass) | 379 comments Ah! No, leave it green. I can't keep track!

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Rebecca wrote: "Ah! No, leave it green. I can't keep track!"

That's why I use my nerdy spreadsheet, I can't keep track either!

message 17: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 319 comments And my second for this is Lenore: Pink Bellies

message 18: by Melki (new)

Melki I'm assuming I can count The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake for this challenge. Lemon is both a flavor AND a color, right?

Sam (ecowitch) | 319 comments And my next and final three are:

Black Butler, Vol. 03
Black Butler, Vol. 4
Black Butler, Vol. 05

(Can you tell I just sat in the library reading one volume after another...)

Binge reading at the library... one of my favorite things to do!

My second in this category is The Golden Spruce: A True Story of Myth, Madness and Greed by John Vaillant. This is non fiction. An interesting story but I didn't like the way it was written. I thought there was a lot of digression from the main idea.

message 23: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Finished a few days ago:

Written in Red by Anne Bishop

message 24: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Douglass (rdouglass) | 379 comments Just finished Frankie Dupont And The Lemon Festival Fiasco. Though the lemons are literal, not the color. But real lemons are lemon-colored.

#3 in this category is: The Red Road by Denise Mina.

message 26: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Douglass (rdouglass) | 379 comments #4: Brown Girl Dreaming Another that could be in either of two categories, as it was also a prize-winner.

message 27: by Michael (new)

Michael (michaelbl) | 200 comments Just completed:
The Deep Blue Good-By (Travis McGee #1) by John D. MacDonald by John D. MacDonald John D. MacDonald

This is two down for color in the title. Keep reading everybody!

John D. MacDonald is a GREAT way to get all your "Color in the Title" reads done!

Melki Wondering if I can count The Coloring Book: A Comedian Solves Race Relations in America since it does technically have "color" in the title.

I have to say no, but there are so many other opportunities to get this category knocked out, I'm sure you'll have no trouble at all finishing it out!

message 31: by Melki (new)

Melki I finished The Black Minutes. Not bad, though it lost momentum about half way through. Or maybe I lost momentum. Momentum was definitely lost.

#4 in the colour category is Red Lightning by Laura Pritchett

message 33: by Melki (new)

Melki I finally have another one - Anne of Green Gables.

message 34: by Connie (new)

Connie Cote | 594 comments Mod
My 5th and final one is The Jade Peony by Wayson Choy

message 35: by Melki (new)

Melki Color title # 4 - the pretty unscary Black and Orange.

message 36: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Started the year with the first in the series, ended the year with the second:

Golden Son by Pierce Brown

message 37: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Douglass (rdouglass) | 379 comments Here we go for #5: Gingersnap by Patricia Reilly Giff. The title is, of course, the name of a cookie, but it is also the nickname of the main character, due to her ginger (red) hair). So I say it's a color.
