Foundation's Edge continues advancing the period between Galactic Empires after Second Foundation, focusing especially on a unique history. Golan Trevize, Councilman (First) Foundation asks: what if the 2nd Foundation (SPOILERS OF PREVIOUS BOOKS) had not been eliminated? How is it possible that the Plan Sheldon continue the performance with both under and as accurate predictions? For his public criticism, surrounded by political intrigue, was forced into exile from Terminus, at the same time find the place of the Second Foundation.
Actually, so far I can count without spoilers. The plot allows better character development, and this novel gain weight exactly that: the relationships between the characters are (almost) as important as the search for the Second Foundation. By the way, Golan will find the introvert but with more sense of humor (intentional or not) Janov Pelorat, historian and scholar of the legends about the mythical "Earth", the primeval country. "Will there be Earth, or be just a myth?" Characters ever more insistently ask. Without giving too much away, I think it is a good review of the original Sheldon Plan, something that should consist a good continuation. Breaking with the old, as demonstrated Asimov over the previous books.
