In Eat, Pray, Love the author is told by her Italian friend that one word describes every place. In Rome, he says, that one word is "Sex." The author decides that "Achieve" summarizes New York, where she lived prior to Rome. And then she decides how neither places feels right as a long term home. It struck me how odd that one word can say that much.

What's your one word for your town? It's hard to think of one, is it?

hm...for Hagerstown...? hm...it's a right-wing conservative pocket in a blue state...but I think it's slowly evolving. I'll choose the word "Evolve."

It's funny, but the author's friend said you would know the word for that place because everyone would be thinking it. What a great town if everyone is thinking "Evolve."

For my weekend home I will say the word is "Stubborn." For my M-F home...still working on that one.

On a good day: "Art". On a less conscious day: "Cool."
