No Country for Old Men discussion

Currently reading No Country for Old Men and I've a question. How did Chigurh find Wells? If I read it correctly Well's staying at the same hotel as Moss before him but how did Chigurh come to the conclusion that Wells was there? In the chapter Chigurh finds the transponder ... Did the police miss it after the shootout between Moss / Chigurh / Mexican Cartel? And once again, how did Chigurh reach the conclusion then that "oh Wells is in this hotel"?
