I love the description of Priscilla in her home and rather than it being a perfect storybook home, she is tripping over stuff, finding gross bits in the soap, and questioning why she deserves to live after being so stupid as to stub a toe, whilst burning the candle at both ends. Her emotional intelligence is a mess, as she is so stressed out by her unrewarding job, and her cluttered tiny room, that it is part funny, part painful to see her.

I also had a little bit of ‘is this going to turn into a creepy horror movie’ when everyone started receiving suspicious looking beets in the mail.

Thought you were about to have a 'omg it's me moment' - on the stubbed toe, I mean ;)

I did wince when I read that, due to the current state of my poor wee toe! Lol!

Patrick | 27 comments Will try to get hold of a copy and catch up with you on this one. Tom Robbins was the one author in 'The Book of Forgotten Authors' who I'd not only heard of, but had read https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

I think World of Books has a few copies (unless you are going the ebook route?)
