Is there a way we wanted to read this book tomorrow?

I am okay with starting if everyone else is.

Did we want to read it a certain way or just however much we want?

I am okay with either.

I think I will aim for about 4 chapters a day. Can't go faster cause I have a team challenge going on that requires a lot of time.

I am at chapter 5. So far I have mixed feelings about this book

Wendy (view spoiler)[ She is very much the spoiled, whiney teenager- but the fact that she acknowledges it gives me hope for growth with her character. And finding out she's a troll isn't the easiest thing to process (hide spoiler)]

Finn (view spoiler)[ I am so confused by his character. He is hot and cold with no explanation or reason why. I don't think there will ever be an explanation as to why he was so rude and mean at the dance. he only says he's sorry and wendy accepts that with no reason why which makes me wonder about the quality of the character development (hide spoiler)]

I could really go either way with this book so we'll just have to see how it unfolds

I am curious about the Trylle and really interested to see where this goes. I wish (view spoiler)[ that things would hurry up and we would get to find out more about Trylle as I am very intrigued having never read a book about trolls. (hide spoiler)]

I am glad we finally seem to be (view spoiler)[ getting some information. I am definitely still wanting more though. The trylle seem pretty despicable with their way of life. Kind of like parasites, sucking their hosts dry.

I agree with Mandiann- I am so happy that (view spoiler)[ We are learning about the world, but I have to admit that I don't like the Tyrelle way of life right now. Giving up raising your own child so that they can get trust funds from wealthy families? I could never do it, but I wasn't raised in that world- obviously.

It makes sense that they did it back when the education and medicine was more advanced in the human race, but at this point why not make schools and hospitols employed by tyrelles who learned in the human world? They look like hums so they can blend for the amount of time it takes to learn. the whole 'I dont want to work so I give up my child for 2 decades' just doesn't sit right with me. (hide spoiler)]

Vittra (view spoiler)[ I was wondering if they were a warring tribe set to kidnap her, if she was royalty or if they were humans who knew the secret of the Tyrelle- Guess I was right with some of the guesses.I hope we get to learn more about them- since Elora says they are different than the Tyrelle. Finished Chapter 12.

Elora(view spoiler)[ okay I am trying to give her some slack because she has a lot on her mind what with the predictive paintings and headaches and all but so far she is just so mean and terrible. Like way to not tell Wendy anything and scare others so that they won't tell Wendy anything and then yell at Wendy for not knowing something. Take and chill pill psycho.

Hopefully she is doing all this because she actually cares and is trying to protect Wendy from something she know about from her paintings. (hide spoiler)]

Going to take a little break and eat then I'm going to read some more of this book, I want to try to catch up but also because I'm interested to find out more about it.

I have the bind-up of the whole trylle trilogy and in the back it actually has a glossary of trylle terminology so it helps me find out what these trylle people are and explains them, it's actually pretty cool but kind of a spoiler in a way.

Thanks for pointing that out, Amanda. Yes, it certainly is a bit spoilery or would be for your point in the book. I have the trilogy but on my ereader so I didn't notice the glossary on my own.

I dont know how I feel so far. I like the world building but some things are bugging me like how

I feel like Elora and Finn are making too big of a deal of the time that Wendy is spending with him. I hope that they finally get their ass in gear and give her the education she needs. Was any one else thrown off by the extremely (view spoiler)[ creepy scene with Garret? I was thinking 'holy shit is he going to rap or kidnap her? nope.... they just have a conversation and we learn that she can see memories- possibly mind read. I just wonder why it was so beyond creepy (hide spoiler)]

Yes, I thought that scene was extremely creepy. I thought he was going to be in league with the Vittra and kidnap Wendy.

Im done. Overall mixed feelings. I feel like not much happened in this book and over half the book was about her not being told anything and then being told how stupid she is for not knowing anything...

I feel like the end (view spoiler)[ was very anti climatic. She found the painting, the ball is happening, and all we get is the chansellor feeling her up and then Finn falls off a balcony for less than a second after an attack where Trov is flinging Vittra around like puppets... (hide spoiler)]

I want more meat to the story! this girl in la la land who is supposedly strong but who no one trusts got old for me really fast.If you want to have a strong willed character let her be strong. Don't have her be so wishy washy.

I didn't mind the relationship that grew with (view spoiler)[ Finn. the insta love in the beginning had me put off but then the author does explore the relationship to a point where it does feel like they are getting to know each other and becomming friends- although Finn is jerkish at times ( kind of like a reverse Mr Darcy where he likes a girl above his rank instead of below) (hide spoiler)]

The bonus chapter made me super currious. I am hoping that book 2 and 3 have some chapters from thier point of view or we end up in thier kingdom somehow. I want to know (view spoiler)[ Who the King is, what Sarah and Loki's relationship is, why they hate the Trylle, what exactly do they want Wendy for... So many questions! (hide spoiler)]

Okay just finished this book. I actually enjoyed the last bit of the book. I'm glad we had more explained. Excited to read the second book and have more being explained.
