Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments I'm needing help trying to title my Arthurian book as well as create a small blurb for the back.

For the title I'm thinking of: Arthur - The boy who saved me

S. M. Fay (smfay2001) | 17 comments It could be easier to come up with a title after u finish your 1st draft. By then, you would have more information about your book, so more options for titles

message 3: by Andres, Thaumaturge (new)

Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments Yeah I completely agree had it not already been a tale already told. Now I have all these great options such as- The Legend of - or The tale untold. lol.

What are you writing about?

message 4: by S. (new)

S. M. Fay (smfay2001) | 17 comments About Astrid who's forced to marry a King of another Kingdom. And then one day, someone murders the King and she has to cope with everything herself and also be a step ahead of her enemies. There are elements of magic as well so I'd say the genre is fantasy.

Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments That reminds me of the "Queen of the Tearling." The series, in my opinion, is not worth reading however the first book is/was very promising. If you need any type of direction I would recommend that book to you.

She was hidden in the woods with tutors and when then queen died the queen's guard rode into the forest and brought her back to the castle where she had to cope with everything herself. There were also assassins that didn't like her mother, the previous queen, so she has to stay a step ahead of them. Through a necklace she has a magic.

Keep checking in, let me know how your doing, i'm here to help!

S. M. Fay (smfay2001) | 17 comments thank you for the recommendation! Will definitely check it out

S. M. Fay (smfay2001) | 17 comments How many words have u written so far?

message 8: by Andres, Thaumaturge (new)

Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments I'm currently at chapter 10. 70 pages, 29,822 words.

message 9: by Andres, Thaumaturge (new)

Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments What about yourself?

message 10: by Andres, Thaumaturge (new)

Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments Not sure if this would help because the book is a bit more humorous but "The Heir Apparent" is along the same lines of what you are writing. She enters a video game where she becomes queen and her kingdom has a multitude of problems that she must solve in order to get out of the game. Again I think it's along the funnier lines of story telling and it might not be what your looking for.

message 11: by S. (new)

S. M. Fay (smfay2001) | 17 comments Still, I'm grateful for the book recommendations. Finding a good book to read can be difficult at times

message 12: by S. (new)

S. M. Fay (smfay2001) | 17 comments I'm on chapter 5 with around 13000 words written

message 13: by S. (new)

S. M. Fay (smfay2001) | 17 comments Who's the author of "The Heir Apparent"? Because when I checked, lots of books with the same title came up

message 14: by Andres, Thaumaturge (new)

Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments I agree. Especially when you just finish a good book or a series, every book you pick up for a period afterwards feels like... meh. lol.

Chapter 5 that's great. What's your discipline? Are you trying to write for a minimal amount of time every day or a set amount of words?

Here's the book.

message 15: by S. (new)

S. M. Fay (smfay2001) | 17 comments I am trying to form a habit of writing everyday, but I'm not good at it xD so I usually end up writing a lot of words in one day and not writing for a while. Still trying to get myself to be more disciplined. How about u? U r almost halfway done with your novel, which is great progress!

message 16: by Andres, Thaumaturge (new)

Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments Yes, it can be very hard to find time to sit down and write. I make time to write for at least one hour a day. Sometimes its rough and I might jam out 300 words for an idea or direction. Other times I had been taking notes on what I wanted to do previously. Those days I can sit down and jam out an entire chapter.

Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments Okay update. My title is:

King Arthur
His Lore, His Legend, and his Love

Now I just need to rehash my logline to make a blurb summary for the back of the book.

message 18: by Andres, Thaumaturge (new)

Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments Got my blurb.

A Warrior and his holy sword lead a crusade against the fey, creating a divide between the two worlds. A Wizard flees from the kingdom hiding his family in secrecy as his people are hunted and killed. A woman is thrust into the throne, still a young lady inside filled with fantasy, controlled by obligation. All three paths are entwined bringing them together and changing their future.

You may want to check this lady's work out. She's done a number of covers for her husband Jeff Strand and other writers. I'm sure there's other names out there but she appears to do good work, maybe her style will appeal to you. https://lynnehansen.zenfolio.com/

Andres Rodriguez (aroddamonster) | 619 comments @Bill thank you so much for the reference! She works exclusively in the horror genre. So if anyone is writing in that genre you should definitely check her site out.
