Thank you, Robin! I agree, Rachel Gibson's last few haven't been that good. This one is next up on my audio list. I just got it from the library.

We are doing some furniture rearranging so everyone has their own "workspace" and we have upgraded our internet and router to handle the expected heavy usage. My job is to keep them on task with their distance learning lessons and work assigned, which was a problem for my daughter before having to teach her classes and make sure her kids did theirs.

I've got Library Overload this month, I'm afraid. A lot of the books I have on hold are coming in.

Uh, oh. Good luck!

Thank you, Sharon! I love reading everyone's lists too.

Uh, oh. Good luck!"
I may have to kick some of them to next month.

Funny. I love Sandra Brown and have read her for years. Before all this COVID crap I went to the flea market with my neighbor and picked up a lot a used books. One was Brown's old ones. When I finished I thought if this was the first book I read by her I would not have looked for another. It was from one of her Saga series too.

Quirky Love Story w/ a touch of Mystery
My Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/..."
I remember enjoying this authors book. I haven’t read them for awhile. I have to look out for this one.

My last two weeks have been nothing short of chaotic. And, on top of limited reading time several library holds have come in. Too many books, too little time.

I enjoyed the first Coleman Book, Ross and Lydia's story, much more than this one. They were both on the gritty, angst side, but "Another Dawn" had such extreme character personality changes, I sometimes thought I was reading a different book.

That is so true, some of her old stuff is really terrible. That is true of a lot of authors. Tami Hoag is one of the few mystery/suspense authors whose older romances I really loved. They were on the light side and really fun.

This was my first book by her and it was different. I don't read much contemporary romance, but I liked it.

I’ve not read any light stuff by Hoag...didn’t even know she’d written anything other than mystery/romantic suspense.

Jonetta, I have experienced that too with some of Howard's books. I know I read her years ago too. It is funny how some authors' books hold up over the years and some don't. I think it is more that my tastes changed more than the authors writing.
Anita, I haven't read any of Hoag's light stuff either.
I think it may be a combination of both for me. But, I’ve had to give up trying Howard’s early stuff after my dismal read of Sarah's Child.

Sarah's Child is my least favorite Linda Howard book, but one of the best reviews I ever wrote! Her early stuff was totally hit or miss for me, much like Sandra Brown.

BJ really missed on this one.

I came close to DNFing this book by an author I've read and really enjoyed in the past.

"I've made mistakes, therefore I can't ever be happy" trope.
My Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Sometimes it is better to just keep the good memories of older books written in the 80s and 90s. Most often they do not live up to a re-read :(

Eyes in the sky, heart on her sleeve.

If you vacation, stay safe. If you staycay have a wonderful time. My family is going the The River again and good friends are coming too.
It is shaping up that the school year start is going to be Grammy School for at least two grandkids. My daughter is a high school teacher and feels she can't do her job and monitor her children doing their online school at the same time
