Should I read this?

I’m 13 and I’ve been wanting to read this for a while, but I wanted to be sure it’s appropriate for someone my age

(I have seen both of the movies)

There were some...mature...things left out of the movies. If you normally read his stuff, you should be fine, but if you try to read age appropriate stuff, it might be a little much.

i read it when i was 11 the first time. can't say all the things i read sank in properly but it's dependent on your maturity level whether you can deal with it.

I think it's a great read definitely a mature type of book. In my opinion, I think they left out a lot of the great details of the book and tried to make the movies a little more easy on the eyes. There is way more backstory as to what happened when they became friends but if it's something anyone wants to read just be warned. This is one of my favorites.

i mean ideally the story would have been told as an HBO television series giving us 8 hours to explore the kids and their terror and the town instead of 2 hours to get some jump scares in and some cool lines.

for me the story was so incredibly well done because the friendships felt right, the dialogue felt right and the monster at the end of the nightmare did not disappoint.

i also think the 3 Derry interludes are some of the best writing King has every done.

Umm.. pretty sure it's meant for adults. It's not like the movies, there's like way more middle aged adult life stuff in there .Actually read this one of his books while in the pen& his humor is everything. My fav of his *currently*✌️i'd try to read different reviews about it to see if its your kind of story :)

The book is a little graphic, both in violence and mature stuff, but honestly it was a great read. I love Stephen King and would recommend it. My only warning is that it's hard to follow in the beginning, but stick around because it does end up making sense.

I read this when I was 16. Its a thick, detailed book and some of the themes slightly more disturbing that I could have imagined. It is overall a very good story though.

Yes please if you will deal with your emotions and your mind then please go ahead.

I don't really think the problem is with the maturity. I think the problem is that it's put up as this incredible life-changing book when it's just a pretty good one. Do I regret reading it? No. But should anyone read it unless it's actually of their own accord instead of the act to impress people or 'become learned in the world'.

I turned twelve this year and I read it in April. It's in the clear as long as you're mature and okay with like...
