After recently moving and stuffing four bookcases full of books, I realized I need to weed out my collection! So hard to part with any books, even if I know I'll never read that book again. So I'm adding them to my BookMooch inventory. My favorite aspect of giving books through BookMooch versus just donating them at a charity shop is knowing that there's a person out there who can't wait to read this very book! I love the warm hand-off of mailing it to a waiting home.

For example, I just added Keah Brown's The Pretty One to my inventory.

Mills Having worked in charity shops and knowing that most of them have pretty high standards as to what books they'll put out, it's knowing that my books that are a bit dog-earred or whatever are ending up in someone's home not in a landfill. They get another chance to live.

I didn't even think about that, that's such a great point!

Andrea (afirry) | 5 comments more people would use BookMooch (imho) if the webpage would be update and regularly maintained. Currently it's such a pain to even scroll thru the results of searches and you cannot even sort them how you want. I love bookmooch and I think if it were made more 'open' (think of discogs, with users able to add and correct entries) it would gain users.
