Two books of those nominated so far - 'Childhood' and 'Speak, Memory' - are good to read in juxtaposition. Two big Russian authors meditate on their childhood. Same country. Approximately same time. Yet their child experiences are practically incommensurable.
Who will the reader identify closer with?
It's good to find out.
Just a thought.

This will depend on the votes but I have to agree with you, I myself can't decide on which to choose there. It'd be nice to try a biography for a change.
