Read to the end of chapter 47 by 02/09/20.

Sarah (calypte) | 84 comments Still in the battle, whole chunk. It's momentous, it's the endgame, but at the same time - as Karen previously said - there's not quite the sense of danger it needs. People are dying in droves, but it doesn't really have the drama. They're unnamed redshirts while the leaders get scratches.

Still. Manoeuvring almost complete, personal drama about to commence.

The section with the drills suddenly launching themselves into space between the two ships...did I miss something, or did they prep them for space flight? The last time they jumped between ships they needed tethering together because a cm in the wrong direction would overshoot their aim. But a claw drill is able to steer accurately through space, maintain optimum levels of pressure and oxygen for its passenger, and only be off course by so little that a nudge from another flyer would land it perfectly on the enemy ship, without landing gear? This whole battle seems like a constant afterthought, rather than planned story arc, with ‘yeah that would be cool to have on a future movie scene’, rather than ‘that makes logical sense’. Also, Roque is the quiet, thoughtful one of the pair...you really think the introvert hasn’t outguessed that you will use unlikely attacks because you trained together, and he knows your likely ones? This would have run better if Roque had annihilated everyone without the overhead announcements. It’s not his style to flaunt.
