Beth | 6 comments I am listening to The Ocean at the End of the Lane and reading Weaveworld. I think I will review at least one book next week but Weaveworld is really long so it might take me a while.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I listened to Malorie (Bird Box, #2) by Josh Malerman last week.

Sequel to Bird Box, right? How was it?

Yes! It was good. Bird Box didn't really need a sequel but you always wonder what happened after...and we got that. But I really hated one part, a big part, so I would've rather Bird Box been the end.

Oh, man! Not looking forward to whatever that part is. Still going to read it though.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I have not really been reading anything that qualifies for FrightFall. Or reading much of anything really. :( In a bit of a slump!
But I plan on reading It by Stephen King starting Oct 1. I own a physical copy and I also got on the Overdrive holds list for the e-book so I can make the most of reading it. I would like to read it from Oct 1-31! lol.

Our first of three movie watch-alongs is tonight. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein at 9:00 pm ET. Visit the Something Wicked Fall thread for the Slack invite link. We discuss there while we're watching. The movie can be watched for free on Amazon Prime Video (if you're a Prime member) or on Pluto (which is completely free, but may have commercials).

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I finished reading/listening to Dracula by Bram Stoker today. And I've bitten the bullet and purchased the audio of The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins for $7.49. Much like Dracula, actually reading this classic is difficult for me. The language is just so wordy and archaic, I find it hard to focus on. I will be alternating between the audiobook and the e-book for the duration of The Woman in White, like I did for Dracula. I am only on page 112. Vincent Gilmore has taken over narration.

Diana | 54 comments Finished: Foretold 14 Tales of Prophecy and Prediction by Carrie Ryan , The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong

Currently reading: What Would Frida Do? A Guide to Living Boldly by Arianna Davis
Starting soon: Sleepy Hollow A Novelization (Includes the Classic Short Story) by Peter Lerangis

I'm the same way, and switched to the audio for Dracula when I tried reading it. I've had the audio for Woman in White for years but can't get myself to start it (it's just so long). I was hoping to this year with the readalong but was never able to get to it.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I have finished The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins ! I gave it 2 stars. I did not like it. It was long and boring and maybe I missed something revelatory but it was pointless.
I am reading Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson .
It is Dewey's 24-Hour Readathon tomorrow so I'm also slated to read Gideon Falls, Vol. 1 The Black Barn by Jeff Lemire Gideon Falls, Vol. 2 Original Sins by Jeff Lemire Gideon Falls, Vol. 3 Stations of the Cross by Jeff Lemire and listen to Carmilla by J. Sheridan Le Fanu . I'm also still reading It by Stephen King !

Sorry you didn't like Woman in White. I'm still plodding along. Finding it interesting, but it's not really scary...at all. :(

Great line up for Dewey's. I'm going to read The Only Good Indians and Carmilla, and read a bit from Woman in White in between.

Seems Woman in White isn't working out well for any of us. I love Dracula.
