Hey I would like to join. I had never heard of it before, but I read the description and downloaded it right away.

I am finishing this up tonight, I may come back to offer some thoughts after you guys start.

Update: Read up to part two today. The first chapter felt confusing & dragging but I got sucked in half way through chapter two.
Things pick up rather quickly.

started it last night and i'm now on page 69. and it seems to be my new favorite!

same feeling about the first two chapters. i actually doubted if i needed to read Shadow and Bone first. now it's hard to put the book down, though.

I'm a few pages in and everything was so confusing! There were so many new characters popping up suddenly without any introductions and I'm in a haze about everything. I admit, the plot was rather interesting but I don't get all the terms. What's a grisha? What about the Black Tip? I feel like the book started all too abruptly.

I haven´t read Shadow and Bone first, I just went in Leigh Bardugo´s website and there ir a part dedicated to explain certain aspects of the world of Six of Crows. I felt the Grisha were explained through the book pretty well, even though it can be a little confusing at the beginning. I am almost done with the book and I´m really involved with the characters. I´m on a waiting list for Crooked Kindgdom in my library and I can´t wait to read it!

I started with Six of Crows and I'm more than a few pages in. I think a Grisha is someone with powers and the Grisha's have different powers - healing, feelings and emotions, feelings and the body etc. I can't really remember what the Black Tips is about again. I was confused at first too but it gets better.

Black Tips if I remember correctly is another gang in Ketterdam.

I hear everyone saying that it's a great book but I can't seem to gather enough interest to continue... anyone else with the same feeling?

I keep picking it up thinking things will live up to the over hype. When I put it down, I don't find a massive gravitational pull to pick it back up like others claim.

Yeah Ikr!!! I guess I'll have to keep hoping :)

It was a lot to put together at first. I had no idea it was part of Shadow and Bone (haven't read). Makes me feel a little better about knowing the first bit was quick review. If it kept up that way I was going to put it down. Getting better now .

I am not a fan of the romance angle between Inej & Kaz. The rescue romance trope bothers me tremendously.

Finished part 1
(view spoiler)[I have to admit, the first part was rather a drag at the beginning with dozens of foreign words, new characters and confusing plots popping up randomly throughout the chapters. Though as the book progresses, the plot made much more sense and the build ups were answered rather satisfactorily.

I can't deny that the author did a great job at planning the plot but I guess she shouldn't have introduced so many characters without prior description or build up so fast. That was perhaps the only flaw I've found.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed the tension and suspense, and couldn't wait to read more of Kaz's mission :) (hide spoiler)]

Omg yes I was literally laughing at the idiocy of the Dregs amidst all the tension and the seriousness. It was just so unfitting yet without that part, everything might seem lacking a particular flavor

Chapter 10
(view spoiler)[I particularly appreciated this chapter, though it did little to the major plot of the break in of the Ice Court, I found myself drawn towards Inej, the Wraith. It gave me peeks into her past, little hints of her emotions peppered throughout the chapter, vivid as if I were experiencing her fear and doubt myself. It was great to know that the author didn't choose to portray the characters as impeccable, but to include their fears and uncertainty as well, making them almost human and largely relatable. Finished part 1
(view spoiler)[This part was a fast paced one with lots of blood, gore, torture and revenge. With the mingling fear, anxiety, confusion and the savage battles, I was pulled into an entirely different world of magical creatures and underhanded gangs. More mysteries unraveled and more started building up. Who was Pekka Rollins? What did he do to Kaz, and his brother whom he seemed to love so much? What was their history?

Meanwhile, I'm not sure if there is going to be any further indication of romance between Kaz and Inej. To me, the Wraith is the best asset he could wish for and I only feel the vicious need for Inej during Kaz's rescue. Perhaps it was his way of showing mild affection. Perhaps. If Kaz Brekker could even love.

Storms of emotions whirled around Nina and Matthias, love and hate, binding together in a phantasmagoria of colors that are yet to show their true corporal form. Bit by bit, their histories untangle, yet still leaving out parts which created suspense and sparked my interest to know more.

An exciting and thrilling read, the book just gets more and more gripping as the Dregs travel north. (hide spoiler)]

I managed to read up to 75% then couldn't find myself picking it up again. Thankfully I found the audiobook on youtube.

2 stars - disappointed & could not stand the amount of tropes.

Love it. Heartbroken. Read it. All I have to say.

I got distracted by life, but 80% finished. I loving it so far. The author has such a talent for setting the scene. I feel like I am inside Katterdam and the Ice palace.

hi everyone! I nearly finished it for the second time, in order to try getting over everything. I loved it. the characters and the mystery helped it become something more than an impossible heist; giving more reasons to the reader to follow along. more then reasons, to me. I loved following the story along the characters, actually.

such a good description you made! the book seems to change its atmosphere so often, as they travel and their environment change, right?
easy to feel like you're right there in Hellgate, Feroline ore at the battle scenes.
plus that each character really has a character of her/his own. did I say that I loved the characters? :'))
