So I read this book ages ago in school that I borrowed from the library a few times. It was a short story, hard-back if I remember correctly, and I could never put the book down as I was so intrigued by it's plot. I can't remember the title of the story or the author either and it's really bugging me. I remember some of the plot, and I'm hoping someone could help me out and find out the boof for me as I'm going crazy over here.
I remember the book vaguely starting with a young man struggling with money and his friend had told him about a flyer which said something about a lady offering money to be with her (not quite sure). Then his friend went missing or he hadn't heard from him in a while and he found the same flyer, deciding to go to this lady's address.
The middle of the story gets a bit blurry for me but I remember the lady seeming a bit off but being nice and telling the man not to unlock the door down the corridor when she went out. Obviously the guy didn't listen and he unlocked the door -- the room was dark and dusty and then he found his friend; dead in a coffin (not sure if it was a coffin exactly) and he saw bite marks and panicked as he heard the lady come back or he just ran out of the room but forgot to lock up and didn't up the keys back where they belonged.
When the lady came home she suspected something but didn't show she knew he had opened the door until after she poured some paralytic toxin in his drink and mentioned his friend who had done the same thing. Then I think the last thing the man saw was her fangs -- I can't remember if the book mentioned the lady being a vampire, but it seemed to suggest that.
Anyway, that's basically all I could remember. If anyone finds out the title or author for this books, please let me know :)
