Hello everyone!

First of all, my apologies for the delay in creating this thread. I've been quite busy (I'm an aunt, and my nephew is a little 2-months-old monster :p) and didn't register we changed months.

I hope you August was kind to you, and that September will be even kinder. What are you reading / planning to read this month? Share with us in the comments, and help us grow our TBR to massive proportions :)

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished Quillifer the Knight and decided, for a multiplicity of reasons (not least being that ERB, Inc. is reissuing all of Edgar Rice Burroughs' books in uniform hardcover editions) to go back to Tarzan of the Apes for the first time in many, many years. We'll see if this is a Good Thing or a Bad Thing.

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 916 comments I've got several going/started, but as I've been swamped with life stuff, I've only been reading on one...

We Men of Ash and Shadow by HL Tinsley

We Men of Ash and Shadow (The Vanguard Chronicles, #1) by HL Tinsley

Joseph | 1651 comments Having completed a run through the first five Tarzan books, Hadon of Ancient Opar by Philip José Farmer is next in line.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I recently finished The Mark of Athena and A Gathering of Shadows. The former was good, although not my favorite in the series so far. And the latter was too much filler, but I still enjoyed it.

Starting the sequel to Bird Box: Malorie. It's that time for spooky reads.

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished Hadon of Ancient Opar and started Flight to Opar.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I just finished The Rage of Dragons. Good stuff. And started Mexican Gothic.

Joseph | 1651 comments Started Conan: The Road of Kings by Karl Edward Wagner, one of the top tier of Conan pastiche stories.

I haven't read anything at all this month again. Life is hectic these days, and somehow, reading isn't relaxing me at all...
Oh well, it'll come back eventually.

Tarzan series is well worth the effort. That his books turned out many films suggest something was right, but what the films miss is Tarzan's interaction with the animals. Given the books were written 100 years ago is amazing. His understanding of animals and their behaviour fits in with current thinking and hasn't dated. Well worth a reread.
