Gordon MacDonald has been a hero of mine ever since.

I've re-read The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren multiple times and still refer to it from time to time.

I'm not sure how many times I've re-read her book, Through Gates of Splendor. It's an unforgettable true story.

That's amazing, Twyla. Have you written to Ann Voskamp to let her know what her book inspired you to do? I see she's on Goodreads at this link: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show.... I'm sure it would encourage her to hear from you. :)

Hi Susan! I did send Ann Voskamp a thank you email a while back. I plan to send her a note along with a copy of my devotional once the paperback is available. One of the devotions (titled "Gratitude") mentions One Thousand Gifts. I also acknowledged the influence Ann has been on my life and writing in the acknowledgements section :)

That's great, Twyla! It's always great to hear when authors support one another here. :)

Well...."The Harbinger II" is the same type of book....and every bit as riveting, entertaining, and enlightening as the first one.
I highly recommend you read both books.....AMAZING

This is Hobson. The Spirit Formed Life by Jack Hayford is one of the most impactful books on my Christian walk! I highly recommend it as you seek a closer walk with the Lord.

Yes, I really liked that book too Jeff. I read it some decades ago now, but I still remember a quote that went something like... Is the family likeness forming in you? If not why not?

I love it so much.

I love it so much."
Tozer books top a lot of lists! No wonder this one means so much to you. :)

For me, there have been several that fall into this category. I'll only mention three at this time.
True North by Gary Inrig uses mariner terms to discuss navigating the sea of life in our turbulent world.
They Smell Like Sheep by Lynn Anderson addresses Jesus's model of leadership as a shepherd. However, this book is certainly not confined to church leaders. It addresses all Christians.
Tender Warrior by Stu Weber discusses true provision and the male role in this matter.

So true. I have gone through it three times, and still haven't figured out what the Conspiracy is.
